Buddha's Belly Itaewon — Restaurant in Seoul

Just sharing my unpleasant experience regarding this restaurant. My friend liked so much the environment and she told me to meet there for dinner, because was near to her accommodation. I had already my lunch and I was thinking to have just some dessert in evening and maybe one or two glasses of wine . Everything it was wonderful on the first meeting... After a day she said let meet again in that place . I was soo happy, coz i enjoyed my dessert ( sticky rice with mango)and wine.It was Monday, not very busy at all and I ordered the same(was planning to have two desserts and two glasses of wine)...and it's started: the guy who takes my order told me that by restaurant rules I can't have in this place dessert and wine with out main dishes, I told him that I don't want proper food I want to join the sweets i can have one or two desserts instead of normal food and drink few glasses of wine, he said no possible in this restaurant...was soo shocked ... My colleague the same ..he makes me feel soo bad and inconfortable, i wanted to leave in that moment....I told him that I can pay for that dishes, but I will not eat..anyway in till the end I said that I will take with me .. so my conclusion:don't look to have a dessert and some good wine in that place if you are not hungry... in till the end it's not all about money😒 ...so unpleasant feeling.. Never ever...

Wow... Please do not make a group booking. It was a disastrous experience, to be honest. I made a booking for 6 people and deposited $120 (each $20, they asked). but there is an additional guest joining us.

The restaurant kept saying that they could not make an additional seat for the guest and also they could not make several tables put together for us, so only we can do is we must seat together packed.🥺

It was horrible and I could not enjoy the meal happily. There was an underground empty hall downstairs(you can check how empty they were in downstairs in my video), but they did not put any effort to make a seat for 7.

and also do not bring a car, their location was too narrow to park and you must pay for valet parking. even I spent for 7 people but I must have been charged for valet parking as well. very inconvenient and I could not believe how I got treated like this, even spending a lot of money.

If I knew their environment like this, I should have never made a booking for group here. Only for 2 people is fine. there is no consideration for customers.

Sorry to say like this. But I got hurt by their service and attitude as well. I do not think that i derserve to be treated like this. Yesterday was very precious day for me and my mom's friends. I feel like that I...

I ordered the chicken laab gai, papaya salad and a Lemonade. The lemonade is SO DELICIOUS. Fresh, cold, ctrusy, tangy, sour. Please don't change the lemonade!

I wanted to like the food. I tried to like the food. The Laab Gai came with steamed rice but no lettuce to eat it with. It made me confused. So I ate it with a spoon and rice.

I went here specifically for the papaya salad. I was so disappointed I almost cried. :( It tasted like cut papaya and some lemon. There was one half cut piece of pepper. I tried hard to eat it out of politeness to the staff but I couldn't so asked for a take away box. Please add some lemongrass or lime or pepper or fish sauce or something to add flavor to the papaya salad

The three stars are given because the staff was polite and service well given. They keep an eye on you and appear right away when you need something. The waiters have kind eyes and show patience and courtesy.

The restaurant and bathroom is clean. Unlike the other restaurants in Seoul. Not only clean but nice decor.

Sidenote: I further purchased egg fried rice and Pad kaprow Gai as take out in hopes of liking other dishes from the restaurant. I didn't, so sadly this restaurant didn't meet my expectations. I did tip the staff though...
