Ownership has issues. I saw management berate an employee for something so minor it astounded me. A group of diners had just finished eating and were cleaning their table after themselves, when the employee tried to clean it for them. The manager was yelling at her being rude for “bussing the tables” while the customers were still there. Would not even hear the poor girls explanation, that she was just doing it for them so they don’t do it themselves. After waiting a long time to get a seat and finally getting my food, I lost my appetite when that scene unfolded. Dude obviously brings his personal issues to work based on how miserable the staff look. Also these tacos are overpriced for what they are, coming from a Californian who’s eaten Mexican food since birth, they did not hit the spot and I was left disappointed. Lastly, they have a ridiculous drink policy where you are FORCED TO BUY A DRINK PER PERSON and WOULD NOT PROVIDE A GLASS OF WATER unless I purchased a drink. Never in my life, have I met a restaurant so CHEAP they don’t give out water or forced you to buy drinks with your over priced tacos. I paid 60k for tacos and no free water? Really makes you wonder where else they are cutting corners. I am going to stick to Vatos Tacos in Itaewon and support owners who make better food and that do not treat their employees and...
Read moreWe ordered pork, suadero, and lamb tacos. chorizo quesadilla. and chicharron fries.(be sure to read)
Let’s get straight to it, the best part about this restaurant has to be its tortillas. The pork tacos were the best out of everything we ordered, as expected, Koreans have gotten pork down to the T. Suadero tacos were okay, nothing too crazy. The lamb tacos were atrocious, to say the least. Granted, i should’ve known, it said “pressed lamb.” I thought i was getting a slow cooked lamb sliced up. oh well, my fault. It’s kind of hard to mess up chorizo ANYTHING, just add jalapeños and you’re good, and this is exactly what they did. the quesadillas were that, chorizo with jalapeños and cheese. Good quesadilla, not great. the chicharron fries is where this can be misleading. the menu just says “chicharron” so i’m thinking i’m getting a basket of this pork but you end up getting fries with the pork. terrible. but once again, the chicharron was delicious. i do think this is the best place to get tacos in south korea out of all the places i’ve tried based on the tortillas. you are paying for the location, these tacos are WAY over priced. itaewon is...
Read moreI'm from SF, which has okay Mexican food. We had a very bad experience with this establishment and we'll not be coming back. Honestly, this is the first time I'd recommend Taco Bell.
Pro: Interior had character, similar to a touristy taqueria you might find in SD. Nice place to take photos.
Cons Food took 1 hour to come out. This includes the chips and guac. When I asked them, they said that they ran out of tortilla. They didn't say anything else. The tacos were very greasy (especially the smashed lamb). I couldn't taste any salsa in any taco. They were an utter disappointment. The corn tortilla were gummy. They didn't have any of the coarseness that I would expect of a corn tortilla. The server looked pretty upset, so we didn't want to bother him. Expensive. We spent about ₩50,000.
Nits: The hot sauce was a Louisiana hot sauce, which was too vinegary for our tacos. I would've expected something like Tapatio. They used American diner plates, which were very light. Their guac bowl was also very light, which makes me think they're plastic. We're just guessing, but they cooking staff seemed very...
