The burger is good. Very good, even, but it is absurdly overpriced and the whole experience is a let down. First of all, they messed up my order (I asked for no pickles and got pickles). Is this a tragedy? No, but when you pay 15 USD (17.400 Won) for a single burger, this becomes much less acceptable. Everything is served in a paper bag and you have to dig through french fires to get to your burger, at the bottom of the bag. And the quantity of fries they give you is preposterous. A regular serving comes with, I am not exaggerating, a pound and a half, minimum, of fries, probably more. So even if you wanted to eat them all, by the time you are halfway through the fries are either stone cold, if you take them out of the bag, or soggy after having steamed in their own heat, if you do not take them out of the bag. So, in conclusion, good burger (but far from "the best you've ever eaten" as they proudly proclaim on pretty much every single wall of the restaurant), poor service, awful quality to price ratio. "Heaven in a paper bag" is another omnipresent slogan on the walls, but "Disappointment in a paper bag" would be a more appropriate description of my experience here. Can not recommend it and I would...
Read moreOverpriced and very mediocre burgers. Despite all the stuff you can add in there basically no flavor, since they don't season the actual meat patty. Very disappointing for the price point. Bacon is terrible, avoid at all cost. It's basically a flat, dry strip of overcooked pork. Cheese doesn't get grilled with the meat, so it's not melted properly. I guess my recommendation is to stay away for the normal burgers with two patties and stuck to the small versions with one patty. This way you have at least the chance to have more flavor from the toppings. Fries are okay, not crispy though. Portion sizes are stupidly huge, if you get a full burger and regular fries, most people wouldn't be able to finish. The trash is full of wasted food. Another concept I don't understand and like. I'm sure there are better burger places, not...
Read moreRight off the bat, Five Guys needs to season their burger patties. The fries were perfect in that regard, as well as the milkshakes we ordered. Definitely more pricey than the competition. My biggest gripe is that people in Korea in general aren't loud or rowdy at fast food joints (which is good), but they were playing very abrasive-sounding music at a deafening volume the whole time. It's unnecessary and unpleasant. Kind of kills the "1950's diner joint" vibe they were aiming for with the decor and makes it less easy to relax and enjoy the food. Service from the staff was good and friendly. They could also speak English by the way. I think I prefer Shake Shack due to the...
