Located in the vibrant city of Seoul, Gordon Ramsay Burger is a restaurant that specializes in burgers. As an avid food enthusiast, particularly when it comes to Italian cuisine, I must admit that my previous experiences with Gordon Ramsay's restaurants have left me somewhat disappointed. However, I decided to give this place a chance, albeit with low expectations, anticipating another instance of the infamous Ramsay "treatment." To my surprise, my visit turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Arriving at the restaurant on a sunny afternoon, I was greeted by a bustling crowd and had to wait in line for about 20 minutes before being seated. The interior of Gordon Ramsay Burger boasts an industrial decor, complete with eye-catching neon signage. To my delight, there were also several modern art installations and creations tastefully scattered throughout the space. It added a unique touch to the overall ambiance and made the dining experience more visually engaging.
Once seated, I immediately noticed the comfortable seating arrangement and the well-trained staff. The chairs provided ample support, allowing me to relax and enjoy my meal without any discomfort. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable, readily available to assist with any inquiries or recommendations.
Now, let's talk about the main event—the burgers. The restaurant takes pride in its signature burgers, which feature a blend of different cuts of beef, resulting in robust and flavorful patties. Intrigued by the menu, I opted for the Forest Burger. This particular creation consisted of Gruyere cheese, a delightful mushrooms ragout, porcini mayo, rocket salad, and a fertile egg. The combination sounded mouthwatering, and I couldn't resist giving it a try.
The Forest Burger arrived alongside a side of Parmesan truffle fries. As I took my first bite, I noticed that the burger itself was slightly on the dry side, but it still offered a pleasant flavor. The blend of Gruyere cheese and the earthy mushroom ragout created a rich and savory profile. The porcini mayo added a creamy element, and the rocket salad provided a refreshing contrast. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the fertile egg, with its velvety yolk oozing over the patty, lending a delightful creaminess to each bite. The Parmesan truffle fries were a worthy companion, boasting a crisp texture and a delightful truffle aroma. Overall, the flavors were enjoyable, albeit not reaching the level of culinary excellence I had hoped for.
When the bill arrived, I couldn't help but notice that the total amount, including a green tea, came to KRW50,000. While it may be considered on the pricey side for a burger meal, I found it to be worth the expense for a unique dining experience, especially for fans of Gordon Ramsay or burger enthusiasts seeking a twist on the classic.
In conclusion, my experience at Gordon Ramsay Burger in Seoul was unexpectedly positive. Although the burger itself was slightly dry, the flavors and the overall dining experience were satisfactory. The restaurant's industrial decor, complemented by modern art installations, created a visually appealing atmosphere. The attentive staff and comfortable seating further contributed to the pleasant visit. While the price may deter some, I believe that Gordon Ramsay Burger is a place worth trying at least once, especially if you're seeking a distinctive...

I thought I was a Ramsay fan. Turns out, he makes a better TV personality than restauranteur. That’s strong words from a single experience, but I left this establishment feeling underwhelmed and unimpressed. Due to the emotional roller coaster I experienced, I’ve bulletized my thoughts for the sake of simplicity.
Service: PRO- Sufficient. Nothing exception, but just right. Didn’t constantly bother us, yet very attentive CON- none.
Food: PRO- The buns… toasted to perfection. The surface of buns were nearly caramelized so any escaped juices from the burger didn’t make the bread soggy. Very neutral taste. Was not as sweet as typical brioche buns.
CON- Ramsay is known for letting his burgers and other cuts of meat “rest” prior to being served. I think my burger was resting to long before being served. I want my food at least warm to consider it enjoyable. The burger patty was near room temperature. The buns were warmer. Cooled/room temp meat has a different flavor profile and for me, it was for the worse. No warm juices flowing into your mouth. I felt it was lacking flavor and fat (too lean). I had to ask for salt – which any chef or cook would be insulted by. The strawberry shake was very average. Mcdonald’s sugary quality.
The wings were heavily battered in a custom panko crust which lacked any sort of flavor, it was cold, and the bones were brown and had an odd smell coming from them. I assume it me as from a marinade but it was too closely related to the smell of expired chicken. The wings honestly were not edible. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced unpalatable chicken wings…. Ever in life! Wings are a difficult dish to mess up.
The homemade Ramsay ketchup was too sweet. Did not taste like ketchup or a sauce that was meant to pair with the burger or fries.
The ambiance and general impressions: PRO- The designers have done a great job at making the restaurant appear larger than it is; however, it’s a very small restaurant which is likely why the service was good… and the wait for from the kitchen was short after ordering.
CON- Presentation of the burger…(maybe this comment belongs w/ the food review) but it was put together well, extremely well. But the way it was plated was very boring. Most gourmet burger experiences I’ve had – for the most part distinguish themselves from a typical fast food burger by serving it with a flair (e.g. knife sticking out the top or uniquely plating the dish). This burger was served on a plain Diaso / dollar store style plate giving the impression of being a “wannabe” white tablecloth restaurant that serves burgers. Slight identity crisis in my opinion. The plate should show, “yes, this is a burger joint.” Instead, expect to be served a plate designed for a filet mignon with a steak knife. It just didn’t make sense. My table was also crooked (not level). These are significant deficiencies that TV personality Ramsay would utterly destroy if he were to conduct one of his reality tv tangents when it comes to critiquing someone else’s restaurant. I feel restaurant management fell short or the Brands on expectations. You should not have high expectations (if you’re a foodie) when visiting here.
Prices are very reasonable. So it’s not a waste of time you just need to find a...
Read moreBeen waiting a long time to try the much talked about burger joint of Gordon Ramsey. Located in the well known and busy Lotte mall in Jamsil. First impression, interior and ambience is definitely better then the average burger shop in Seoul.
Staff is very kind and attentive, big plus, the servers and seater I talked with was super kind and friendly.
*The burgers, I tried the forest burger and the american burger. The taste of my burgers was good, medium cooked and bun was nicely toasted. Topping was not overflowing and the temperature to me was good. *Chicken wings were very small and underwhelming, but brought a nice kick of spice. *French fries was crispy and well seasoned compared to the competitors in Seoul. *Onion rings was nice and crisp too, but lacking some flavor unless you take a good chunck of dipping sauce.
I can't speak for anyone else. This is only my opinion. I do also try to put aside it is a Gordon Ramsey shop, as I feel many will be more harsh in their critics then the competitors. Just because it's a famous chef's business.
The majority of burger shops in Seoul are bad, overpriced for lower quality and soggy fries, and cramped seating. There are maybe only 3 other burger restaurants in Seoul/Seongnam I would recommend, if so I will feature them here.
The burgers are better then the average shop but as many point out, it is very pricey. The forest burger is one of the most expensive featured on the menu. Although I enjoyed it, I personally feel it is 9 000 won too much. The american burger is priced 5000 won higher compared to what I would be more willing to pay for it. I wish there would have been a set option or at least lower the side prices. I understand this shop is aiming for the high end part of things but it can still be done with more traffic through the doors. I think price point will be the biggest "scare away" for many. Not that people can't afford it, but the willingness to pay that much with no sides or drinks included.
At least Gordon Ramsey's burger restaurant does bring a much better and comfortable ambience, it brings an experience and an identity.
Would I recommend it? Maybe as a one time try, just have tried it. It would be easier to fully recommend this place if the value was better cared for. That's why I only feel the food part is worth 3 stars. But staff and service was very good, one of the best in its category.
I hope this review can be useful when you consider to...
