Gwanghwamun Tteokgam: A Pocket-Friendly Hangout for Seoul's Youth

Today, I visited Gwanghwamun Tteokgam, and I was amazed to find such an affordable eatery in the heart of Seoul. The place was bustling with young people enjoying their time. The food was good, but what stood out the most was the lively atmosphere.

With generous portions at low prices, it's no wonder that many beautiful young women and other patrons happily gathered here, sipping soju and enjoying themselves. In times when the cost of living has risen significantly, a budget-friendly restaurant like this is truly valuable.

I highly recommend Gwanghwamun Tteokgam to anyone feeling the strain of high prices in the area. This affordable, unpretentious eatery is the perfect spot to unwind and have a great time.

😋 맛(Taste) 대표 메뉴 뚝감 10,000원, 김치찌개 10,000원 모두 가성비 좋습니다. 특히 김치 맛이 좋아요 Their signature menu Ddukgam (10,000₩) & Kimchi stew (10,000₩) are both cost-effective. Can't get a decent one like it for this price in Seoul. The Kimchi is really nice (could be spicy to some people tho)

🩷 분위기 (Atmosphere): 데이트 장소는 아니고 주로 직원들끼리 해장하고 싶을 때 들리는 장소 Not for dates really. Probably for office workers or for hangover. Still if you want to try a real Korean dish, I definitely recommend it!

🥰 친절도(Hospitality): 근처 사는 사람으로서 10번 이상 방문했는데 "다시는" 가고 싶지 않아졌어요. 직장인들이 많이 방문하기도 하고 새벽대까지 영업해서 점심 시간, 저녁 시간에 많이 붐벼요. 그래도 아무리 붐빈다고 하셔도 (1) 9월 방문 때, 저의 앞치마 달라는 요구를 직원분이 듣지 못하셨습니다. (여기까지는 괜찮았습니다) → 반찬 주실 때 앞접시를 쾅 내려놓으셔서 김칫국물이 저와 제 지인 분 모두께 튀었습니다.

(2) 10.02일 방문 시, 저번처럼 앞치마 달라는 요구가 잘 안 들리거나 직원 분이 까먹으셨을까봐 두 번 말씀드렸습니다. 첫 번째 요구 때 "네"라고 답하신 분(직원1)이 주방 쪽으로 가시길래 까먹었나 싶어서 혹시 다시 말씀드리니 다른 직원(직원2)이 "아까 말씀하신 거 들었다. 똑같은 말 하면 헷갈린다" 등으로 대응하셨습니다. 살짝 기분 나빴지만 충분히 그럴 수 있었다고 생갇합니다. 보통 반찬으로 깍두기, 고추+파, 김치 한 접시 나오는데 이 날은 김치만 안 나왔습니다. 혹시 누락되었나 싶어 반찬코너 가서 리필하려다가 다른 직원분(직원3)이 눈짓으로 반찬 앞접시랑 집게 저기 있다고 해서 당연히 집어도 되는 줄 알고 가지러 갔습니다. 김치를 접시에 담아서 테이블로 가니 아까 전의 그 직원 분(직원2)께서 "오늘 김치 다 떨어져서 그거 신 김치라 가져가면 안 되는데...뭐...드세요."라고 퉁명스럽게 말씀하셨습니다. 이것도 어떻게 보면 확인하지 못한 제 잘못이라 오히려 미안한 마음에 얼른 앉았습니다만, ☆또☆ 그 직원2께서 다시 저희 테이블로 와서 "그거 원래 가져가시면 안 돼요. 가져갔으니 뭐 드세요"라고 또 말씀하셨습니다. 저도 화가 나서 "그러면 김치 떨어졌다고 말씀 한 번만 해주시면 됐잖아요"라로 받아쳤습니다. ❗️❗️머리 파마하시구 묶고 계셨던 여직원님^^❗️❗️ 제 앞 테이블에 앉아있던 여성 3명에게도 잔 개수 본인이 잘못 가져오셨으면서 손님께 퉁명스럽게 대하시더군요. 손님이 왕은 아니지만 그딴 식으로 기분에 따라 서비스 하실 거면 손님 받지 않으셔도 됩니다. 음식값에 음식 재료값만 있는 것도 아니고 이런 불친절한 태도를 눈감아 줄 만큼 맛있지는 않습니다. 깜빡하고 영수증 버렸는데 영수증 찍어서 꼭 네이버 리뷰에도 올릴게요 :) Long story short, there is a rude employee 🤷🏻‍♀️ ➡️ It seems like she is gone or she got "taught" how to...

Authentic place with a great service, tasty Korean food and truly local atmosphere. We came here for a late-night food, the place was busy at half past midnight with late workers coming here for dinner.
