안성또순이는 1979년 개업해 2대 36년을 이어온 생태 전문점이다. 30여년 전 정동 문화체육관 인근에서 영업을 시작했고 청진동으로 옮겨 15년 동안 영업하다 2년전 쯤 지금의 위치에 자리 잡았다. 정동 시절 테이블 2~3개 놓고 억척스럽게 장사하는 주인 할머니에게 사람들은 '또순이'라는 별명을 붙여주었고 이것이 가게이름이 되었다고 한다. 단골들 사이에선 지금도 '또순이네'로 통한다고 한다. 초반에는 갈치찌개가 주력메뉴였지만 지금은 생태탕이 주력 메뉴로 바뀌었다. 국극(國劇) 배우 출신의 ‘안성또순이’는 할머니가 되었고 이제는 중년의 따님이 운영하고 있다고 한다. 서울의 생태탕 집이었는데 일본원전사고 이후 대구탕과 한식밥상, 일품요리들도 내놓고 있다. ​

언제부터였나 한국에서의 생태가 보기 힘들고, 잡는 족족 정부에서 보상을 한다는 이야기를 들은게... 명태, 동태, 북어, 코다리, 생태 등등... 어딜가든 빠지지않는 대한민국 명실상부 최고의 음식인데 이요리로 탕을 먹는다면 이집을 가히 추천한다. 광화문에 들릴때쯔음 항상 이집에 포커스를 맞춰서 가곤 했고, 지방에서 놀러온 친구들의 숙취를 풀러 일부러 제비머리와 퀭한눈으로 가곤했다. 생태요리점이 많지 않아 특별한 가격이라고는 생각이 들지 않고 맛있는 음식을 깔끔하게 먹을수 있음에 만족하며 가격에는 의문이 들어본적이 없다. 국산생태가 아니지만 토속적인 광화문 근처에서 가장 한국적인 음식을 먹을수 있음에 감사하다.
