A popular hotteok store with a long queue, orderly and moves pretty quickly. Was skeptical about vegetable hotteok but decided to try it out as this is their specialty. I ended liking it over the regular sweet seed one (which I enjoyed too)! All their hotteok are freshly made, you can then preparing and frying. Turnover is high with the long queue so you definitely get hot and crisp hotteok.
The vegetable hotteok is savory! Surprisingly loved this. The japchae filling is savoury and seasoned well, slightly more than the regular japchae so it’s great as a filling. The noodles are so soft chewy Yet, the outer hotteok skin is thin and crispy. The store lady brushed a layer of savory sauce on the pancake too which added a really nice flavor A must try, will order this again if I’m back in Seoul~
The sweet seed hotteok was yummy too, though I preferred the vegetable one. Sweet brown sugar, cinnamon and seed filling. Not too much but goes well with the...

All three types of 호떡 Hotteok - 야채 Vegetable, 꿀씨앗 Sweet-Seed, and 팥 Red Bean cost 2,000 KRW each. We bought the 야채 Vegetable and 꿀씨앗 Sweet-Seed flavors. The vegetable one is filled with japchae.
You can choose to have it in a paper bag for takeaway or in a cup to eat immediately. The hotteok is very hot and a little messy to eat, but it’s one of the better ones I’ve had (unlike the ones at Myeongdong Night Market/Tourist Street which were quite dry).
Note that you cannot enter the nearby underground shopping center or train stations with the hotteok. The nearest train station is 회현역 Hoehyeon Station Exit 5, about a 5-minute walk away.

Read moreFor Hotteok lovers, this is one stall you should definitely try. Recommended by our Nami Island taxi driver, it is located at the edge of Namdaemun Market and it is very popular with waits up to an hour during peak periods.
We went early in the morning. Supposed to open at 8.30am, by the time we got there at 8.26am, there was already a long queue. Mostly Japanese tourists with a couple of locals.
This stall is also the only one I have found that offers vegetable hotteok on top of the usual sugar filled ones and the occasional red bean paste filled hotteok. Priced at 2500 won each, it’s relatively inexpensive.
Must say that their vegetable and red bean paste hotteok tastes the best. Unfortunately the ubiquitous cafes that Seoul is famous for were all closed at that hour and the GS25 store nearby does not sell coffee ( ? ). Otherwise a cup of hot coffee would go very well with...
