Tasting Room — Restaurant in Seoul

I had dinner plans with my friend at IFC Mall in Yeouido. What should we eat? While thinking about the restaurants and menus at IFC Mall, finally we decided to have dinner at 'Tasting Room' because the impressively pretty interior looked so attractive. When I walked in the restaurant, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was prettier and nicer than what I saw from the outside. Tasting room is an Italian bistro, but they didn't sell the Italian cuisine we normally know. They were selling fusion-style Italian food that was a new twist on basic Italian food. Everything on the menu looked and tasted good. After thinking about what to eat, my friend and I ordered vodka rigatoni pasta and sun-dried flatbread.

Vodka Rigatoni Pasta (Rosé Pasta with Vodka Sauce) is a pasta made with rigatoni noodles topped with fresh mozzarella on top of rosé pasta seasoned with vodka sauce and minced shrimp. Sun-Dried Flatbread (Sun-Dried Tomato Flatbread) is flatbread topped with fresh mozzarella, sun-dried tomato, and basil pesto, and eaten together with arugula.

The fresh mozzarella on top of the vodka rigatoni pasta is hardened when the dish is served, but melts quickly because of the hot rigatoni noodles.

Both dishes tasted light yet delicate and very good.

My friend doesn't drink, so we only had food, but I think the food would be really good with a white wine like Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.

Next time I visit, I will try other food and order a bottle of wine and drink it together.

We had high expectations for The Tasting Room in Seoul, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The food was just average – nothing particularly memorable or exciting for the price point.

What really brought the experience down was the service. We ordered wine and it was simply left on the table – no one bothered to pour it or check in on us throughout the meal. The staff seemed disengaged, which made the whole dining experience feel cold and impersonal.

With so many incredible dining options in Seoul, this one just didn’t make...

I loved the vibe of this restaurant that dark gray light made.
