Sorry to say that the Restaurant Larepera in Avila was very disappointing. We won’t go back or recommend this restaurant. We went on Good Friday, April 7, there were 6 of us. Service was very slow, we had to ask twice for a bottle of wine and other drinks. Then we ordered the wine with the food, after 30 minutes we had to again ask for the wine. My wife’s main course did not come with the other five main courses. We had to ask what happened to her’s main course and by the time it came the other 5 people had finished their main courses. One plate that we order very often is Broken Eggs with ham and potatoes (huevos rotos con jamon y patatas) but this time it came like nothing we have seen before. It did not look appetizing at all. Only half of it was eaten. The eggs white was uncooked and the potatoes seem boiled instead of fried and the ham was shred sprinkled on top. The worst huevos rotos con jamon y patatas we ever had. We ordered four solomillos, two were a Solomillos Avileño cooked mediium and two were Solomillo vacuno mayor, one cooked medium and one rare. When the sever brought out the steaks he did not know which steaks were which. When is came time to pay we asked for the check several times, after over 30 minutes we received the check. Needless to say we were not...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful experience at LAREPERA. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere — it’s stylish yet cozy, with a vibe that makes you want to settle in and stay all evening.
The food was outstanding. Every dish showcased local produce and was beautifully presented, with creative touches that made it truly memorable. You can tell there’s real passion and care in the kitchen — these are not your typical plates, but carefully crafted, unique dishes that highlight the best of the region’s ingredients.
The service was impeccable: friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about explaining the menu and pairing suggestions. It made the whole experience feel personal and special.
We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s a place that captures the heart and the taste buds. Highly recommended for anyone who loves thoughtful cooking, local flavors, and an ambience that makes you feel right at home.
Try the blood pudding cigars, tomato and burrata salad, beef carpaccio and battered prawns. Also...
Read moreThe service was great. The location is amazing. The quality of the food was also great. The only thing we would point out as an area of improvement is the amount of food for the price. Basically, we were still hungry. For the steep price we paid we would have expected a bit more of food on our plates. It felt like we were paying too much for the quality of something that will leave you still hungry.
Sadly, we are sure we will not visit again.
If you a just looking for a location and that type restaurant that serves a bit of high quality food on your plate and you are ok being hungry after laying a steep price. Then this is your place. If you care about paying a reasonable price for good quality and you will not be hungry afterwards, there are...
