Great location and friendly staff, but the food was underwhelming
We ate at this location last year, but it looks like it’s changed names and ownership since then. The place now feels fresh, modern, and stylish. On arrival, we were greeted warmly – although by four different staff members before a fifth finally took our order. Friendly, but a bit disorganised.
As expected, it’s on the pricier side (you’re definitely paying for the setting), but some of the food impressed – the fried prawns on sticks were absolutely delicious, and my wife enjoyed the antipasto platter (€32), which helped ease the wallet pain slightly.
The mains, though, were where things felt a bit odd. Several dishes are only available as portions “for two,” which limits options. We chose the squid ink rice with saffron aioli – essentially a tray of rice with a few squid rings and 20 neat dots of mayonnaise. It tasted good, but there were no vegetables or extras, so it felt oddly incomplete. The couple next to us had the piri-piri chicken (also for two) and theirs looked just as sparse.
We added a cauliflower side, which helped a bit, but overall the mains lacked balance and felt more style than substance.
Desserts were hit and miss. The baked banana with ice cream was tasty, but the Churros & Chocolate Lover’s was disappointing. The chocolate was excellent, but the churros were very oily – a bit of sugar and proper draining (or a quick pat with kitchen roll) would’ve helped a lot.
Would we go back? No, not for the food. It’s a lovely spot with friendly staff and a few standout items, but overall it felt overpriced and a bit lacking – particularly for a place in such a...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant — a very beautiful place with a pleasant atmosphere and well-cooked, tasty food. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the waiters.
We were sitting at the table, six people in total, and after about 10 minutes my children arrived and sat down with us. One of the waiters (a shorter, dark-haired man wearing glasses) told my children to leave the table and wait at the entrance, near the reservation desk, even though there was no one waiting for a table at that time. I explained that they were my children, but he still made them leave.
I also work in a similar field, so I know that the owners are not necessarily to blame for the employees’ behavior. However, such an attitude leaves a very unpleasant impression on customers. Because of this, we decided to go elsewhere.
It’s a pity, because the restaurant has great potential and the food is genuinely good. I hope that in the future the staff will be more attentive to how they treat their...
Read moreWe went there on a Thursday night after being sent away on tuesday night for wearing flipflops. We understood and liked the location, thats why we came back only to find out, that on Thursday night serveral men were wearing flipflops anyways...
The guacamole as a starter was very good, the main dish was the opposite. I had the Rigatoni with truffles. It was just plain noodles without a sauce and a few cooked vegetables to it, covered with a bit of truffles. It was less than underwhelming. I tried to inform the waiter about this but don't think he cared.
The staff was very disorganized. About 5 different people were serving us, and they still couldn't serve our drinks in a reasonable time. In addition, they didn't ask us if we wanted any follow up drinks when ours were empty. Most of the time we actively had to call them to our table to order something which was quite annoying.
The location is very beautiful but the rest was not...
