Be aware that it's volcanic sand, so it isn't prestigious white sand. Pleasant enough but sunbed kiosks are inconsistent and a rip off. They don't take card over 2 years into a planet-wide pandemic for some reasons and the other kiosk aims way above its class by charging an eye watering amount for sun loungers and alcohol, but you can't have either, you have to have both. Staff on beach are rude and dismissive. Constantly bothered and disturbed by men trying to sell things and left uneasy by other men obviously loitering with intent, possibly casing the beach to pick pocket I honestly don't know?
Didn't feel relaxed here and was constantly weary of men predating tourists and getting too physically close to us. But beach is clean and the water is pleasant. Some nice front places to eat and drink. Just keeps bags etc safe as you would anywhere abroad in a tourist area. Nice beach, spoiled a...
Read morePlenty of beaches in this area with black sand and plenty sun loungers for everyone. There are lots of souvenir shops here basicly selling the same rubbish made in China, nothing made locally. The promenade is plentiful with restaurants and cafes everywhere but reminded me of Birmingham, it was like kebab shop after kebab shop selling the same items, no variety.
When you find a spot to lounge at the beach you are constantly hounded by touts selling knock off or counterfeit items every few minutes, it just gives the place a bad name, l counted 14 approach me in around an hour.
After one visit we learned that one visit was enough and didn't come back. The touts that sell knock off items at the beach are usualy on commission if they get you to eat or drink at a restaurant at the beach, we found...
Read moreGreat wide beach with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs around. Access to toilets and showers. Also sunbets and sunchairs available just make sure you come early enough (between 8 and 9) to have it. Alternatively you could reserve it. Sunbeds are really handy. Family of 3 easy fit in 1 sunbed. It cost €80 for first 2 rows (€35 for sunbed plus €45 to use for drinks, food) and €60 for further ones sunbeds (€25 for sunbed plus €35 to use for drinks and foods). Sunchairs are around €7-€8 each but not as comfy as the sunbeds. Sunbeds sound expensive in total but you would spend that money on food and drinks anyway so worth book it. Prices as of end of...
