Zena Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Adeje

An absolute delight of experience, this was definitely my best meal in Tenerife. Called up to book a table and phone was picked up after two rings and they confirmed the availability. As I arrived I was seated on a very nice and clean table and menus were handed to me, the Manager was extremely helpful and honest about food choices and he was spot on, I also had some prosecco and a bottle of Rose, they both were served lovely and chilled. Starter was the seafood fried skewers which I probably could have 10 of those , they were fresh and clean, the prawns were divined perfectly. Main course was the Spaghetti Scoglio as per the manager's recommendation, it was super delicious and I don't think it took me long to finish it, clean plate, complement to the chef. Moved on to the Tiramisu and Amaretto to finish off the past two courses , tiramisu was airy and light. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough. I also had a very interesting conversation with the lovely localEnglish couple next to me , who mentioned this place has always been consistently good, my only disagreement with the was the Gentleman being a Liverpool fan😁 Other observations: Toilets were clean, Decor and lighting was spot on. I was the last table to leave and I saw the manager looking after the floor as his staff have their dinner ( hats off) I'll be back and I'll tell everyone to go there. Keep up the good...

Zena had been recommended by our apartment host and is within walking distance. My wife and I reserved a table for 18:30 on New Years day 2018. We decided not to order from the Pizza menu ...so cannot review on the quality..... For starters we ordered garlic prawns and Avocado and prawns. The garlic prawns was served on a hot platter in oil....but the prawns just seemed to be thrown on and not properly cooked through and was not a genuine authentic dish like I've had in many restaurants around the world. For mains we had Lasagne and Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce. The Lasagne was a generous portion.....but both dishes just lacked real taste.....we ate less than half of each. We ordered house white wine which was offered to taste not chilled....but was ok when left in a ice bucket. Overall we where disappointed with the meals and ensured the waitress was aware of our opinion. I felt that dissapointed I didn't even leave a tip.....which is very unlike me...... The restaurant may have been hung over from New Years celebrations and this was reflected in their cooking ability on the night.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered the tuna, which was supposed to be served with sesame according to the menu, but instead it came covered with poppy seeds. That was already unexpected, but the real problem was that the tuna itself was completely inedible—full of tough, fibrous threads that made it impossible to chew.

When I tried to explain this to the staff, they didn’t seem to understand the issue. After a few minutes, they brought the check without the tuna included, but offered no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. Instead, their attitude made it feel as though the problem was somehow ours, which left a very unpleasant impression.

For a place that presents itself at a certain standard, I would have expected at least an apology and some professionalism. Unfortunately, between the poor quality of the dish and the dismissive service, I cannot recommend...
