Reading some of the mixed reviews I would recommend that you take some with a “pinch of salt” pun intended.
This is a guanchinche which, is not a fine dining establishment. It is however a place you will finally escape the horrors of sports bars and the cheap eats surrounding the area. The atmosphere is Spanish and more specifically Canarian and of Tenerife.
The menu is designed for you to share many dishes so most have half portions and the bigger classic dishes like goat stew or fried rabbit come in one size. The waiter will tell you if it sounds more like you have over ordered.
We took the carne cabra and special salad to start then an entrecôte and the bacalao encebollado as our main and we were stuffed. With 3 drinks our bill came to around €64 which is a great price.
Re Salt: it’s commonly used in local cooking here. Re Coackroaches: they are everywhere in hot countries. Re service: the waiters are attentive and so you do have different people serving different things across all of the tables.
It is not a sit down, black-tie venue. It’s a relaxed family and friends orientated Spanish restaurant. Once you factor that in you will not just walk here, you’ll...

The best caranian cuisine in town is here. Though, you ought to learn some basic spanish few waiters know some english. So if you want to order wine just say “Uno litros vino tinto.” That means 1 litre of red wine.
The wine is cheap. When I say cheap it is REALLY cheap. Plus it coming striaght out the barrel. A litre cost no less then 5 EUROS. Like WHERE ELSE CAN YOU FIND SUCH CHEAP WINE. Okay, I’ll stop ranting.
Moving on to the food, mi amor, portion wise? Magnificent. We ordered Pal Choso Special Salad, Grandmas Chickpeas and bread for starters. The caranians sauces just my god garlicky creamy slight sweer with a kick from the chilli. Its called red mojo. So so good. For mains, grilled chicken, veal steak and ribs for two. All of the meats is cooked on a open flame so it gets that charred smoky flavour with it.
Yes definetely coming back here everyday. Our bill came to a total of 88euros. Plus we order Cafe Buroqquita, its Tenerife Special island coffee....

We we taken to our table, and when my wife sat down, the chair broke into pieces, crushing her finger. Blood poured over the table, and the waiter said sorry about that and walked away. My wife asked for a first aid kit a was taken to a box which was empty. Fortunately the table next to us helped with a small plaster. After getting our drinks order wrong, and waiting a good while for our food, the blood from the finger was everywhere. The waiter the tried To stem the flow with clingfilm!! When we asked for a complaints form,we were told they don't have any and we should go to the town hall to get one. The manager then told us to go to hospital and claim on our holiday insurance !! They could not have cared less. My wife now has a black split finger with the nail ripped and a blood stained top. I the the biggest mistake the manager made was thinking we were tourists. I've posted the photo of the broken chair. I will be taking...
