We are just back from a week at Iberostar Las Dalias and we didn’t stop smiling the whole time we were there! The atmosphere is contagious, you can’t help but smile and dance as you walk around the resort and a lot of other people felt the same way (we bumped into loads of repeat visitors). The entertainment crew are full of energy all day long. They always made a point to stop and interact with our son every time they passed us (even though he is a shy child and didn’t say too much back) and they worked hard to get the kids involved in the mini disco they did each afternoon; they even got our son up and dancing by the end of the week! There were also games and events during the day (a foam mat runway that went into the pool and you had to try and reach the end before falling off) and a kids club to keep the kids entertained during the day. On friday they hosted a foam party for families and that was a LOT of fun for everyone involved!
But it's not just the entertainment crew who give this place its energy. The bar staff are friendly and always have a joke around. When we went at the end of January we never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a drink at the bar (and even when there was a long queue it quickly went down again). The drink choices were great, with smirnoff/absolut, Bombay Gin, Aperol spritz and a cocktail menu of about 6-8 choices of drinks all included in the All-inclusive package (plus you could help yourself to beer and sparkling wine from the bar).
You could enjoy drinks around the pool in plastic cups which you could then recycle which was a nice touch. When we went in January the main pool and kids pool were both heated and there were parasols and plenty of sunbeds to choose from (you leave a €20 cash deposit for each towel).
Check in was friendly with a reception drink and didn’t take too long. Our room was nice enough, white walls and a big light-blue sea turtle picture made it feel airy but it could have been easy to pick it apart (view of the car park from the balcony, no finishing to under the sink, etc), but as we were feeling so chilled none of it really seemed to matter. Housekeeping were flawless, we never once had to go down and ask someone to clean our room or change our towels. I should also point out the cleanliness of the entire resort was impressive and the restaurant always looked clean and inviting to have meals in.
The restaurant had a good selection of food most evenings. There were the same staples each day (fries/pizza/pasta) but there was a different theme each evening which meant there was usually something different to have each day (the seafood night with an endless supply of lobster was by far the best night of the week). There was some crossover between lunches and dinners which meant by about day 6 it could start to feel a little repetitive with food choices, and breakfast had no rotation of foods and was the same choices each day. Luckily you could pick something different each day with an omelet station, freshly cooked eggs, pastries, continental choices and toast to name a few. What lets breakfast down a little is the ‘english fryup’, but as we mentioned there’s plenty of other delicious choices available. We sat in the same area of the restaurant most of the week and had the same server for most of our meals. He was attentive, friendly and cleared away plates from the table quickly.
The evening entertainment was varied all week but didn’t really get going until around 9pm (although this may change in peak season when there’s more children staying at the resort). It ranged from ‘not bad’ to ‘excellent’ and was a mix of shows performed by the entertainment crew and music groups that had been booked specifically to play at the venue that night.
If the purpose of your holiday is to forget about the stresses and doom and gloom of the ‘real world’ and smile, feel good and have a laugh you won’t feel...
Read moreWe've never done all inclusive before (or been to Tenerife) so didn't really know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised and think we'll probably do all inclusive again in the future. I'll write quite a thorough review in sections:||Cleanliness-|Hotel was spotless. Lobby was very impressive. Dining room and communal areas all very clean and well maintained. Beyond that to the corridors and the rooms themselves, they were perfectly clean, but clearly in need of updating. Room cleaned, beds freshened and towels replaced daily. ||Location-|Easy walk to beach. Siam park walkable in 10 mins. Reception will order you an almost instant taxi to anywhere further. Spot on for us.||Food-|Really happy with the selection. Dining room never felt too busy or crowded. Food selection was huge and always fresh. Themed nights offer different food each night as well as the usual stuff which was there every day. Meal times were later than we're use to (lunch starts at 1pm, dinner starts at 6.30pm) but there was food on the mini buffet by the pool to keep you going. Drinks also fantastic and never massive queues, even in the evening. Ice creams and lollies available by the bar in the left freezer included. Those in the right (locked) freezer cost extra. Because of the sign saying they cost extra, we thought that was both freezers the first day but the left, unlocked, freezer is included. Chicken curry spring rolls in the outside section one day were my absolute favourite and I went back every day hoping they'd have them again but sadly they didn't. ||Entertainment-|We don't spend a huge amount of time at the hotel during the day and didn't use the kids' club so can't really comment, but people seemed to be enjoying activities when we did see them and staff were always very chatty and engaging with us. We only stayed around for evening entertainment twice too which was good and what we expected really. ||Pool-|We only went in the biggest of the pools. There is a slightly smaller one as well, a toddler one and an adults only one. All in the main pool area together. The big pool is deep. 1.5m and I could only just stand up at the edges and not at all in the middle. Didn't bother us, but worth knowing. Inflatables are allowed in the pool. Sunbed situation is interesting... We were there in August when it was ridiculously hot and busy so it may not be like this all the time, but by 7.20am (who know what time they start) towels were on sunbeds around the pool. We weren't interested and went out each day in the morning but when people say there are always beds, there are, but ones at the back. By the time we went to the pool however (3/4pm) there were always plenty of beds free, right at the front. By 5pm the pool was quiet and most of the beds were free. The lifeguard clocks off at 6pm but we happily stayed in the pool until 8pm some nights. The temperature was perfect for us at that time of day. ||Overall, I couldn't fault the hotel. Tenerife I don't think I'll be returning to, it's not for us, but I would happily stay in an Iberostar again and would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Tenerife...
Read moreIm going to be as honest as I can with my review. I went for a week with my partner to celebrate their 30th birthday (it was my birthday gift to them) When we arrived the staff were lovely and hand you Champagne on arrival. I got to my room which was a twin room with a balcony. My room was under “Double or Twin Room Balcony/Terrace (B)” I really did wish my bed was a double however it was a twin. The rooms are a bit outdated. I did also notice in my room there was these little bugs on my bedside table. I assumed they were Termites as the bed frame/table was made out of wood. It didn’t really bother me much, I was there to sleep which did the job. But I can understand it bothering people. They did leave a nice bottle of rose with these jar of jams as I did tell them in advanced to please give a nice room if possible due to a 30th birthday celebration which was lovely of them. I did the mistake of not getting a pool view. I truly believe what makes this hotel a 4 star is the people who run it, without them I think it would be a 3 star. The animation team/activities are AMAZING especially for children/teenagers. There is a lot to do from ping pong, archery, yoga, water games, darts, bingo, quiz nights (the list goes on) and there is always evening entertainment. My favourite was the MJ Tribute they did. FOOD: After reading so many reviews, I was nervous I would eat cold bad food. Please ignore all them reviews because those people are most likely going into dinner/lunch at the end because my food was always hot. It was delicious with so many choices. Every night there is a theme of different food but then also food that everyone likes if you don’t like the theme like pizza, pasta, chicken, steak etc. shoutout to the worker there who kept coming around topping up my amaretto. The staff there are seriously amazing. COCKTAILS: be aware that their cocktails are pre-made in bottles. Sometimes they make them fresh but it depends how busy they are and if they want to. On the menu there was no sex on the beach but they made me one so just got to ask. SUN BEDS: the good beds around the pools will get reserved because people legit wake up at 6-7am to put down their towels😂 (no the hotel won’t do anything about it) but you will always be able to get a bed just if you want to be around the pool make sure you put your towel down. LOCATION: amazing. 10 minutes walk to Siam park so if you plan to go there you’re in for a treat. By so many different beaches, restaurants, bars and shops. You’re right around the corner from “San Eugenio” bus stop. It costs €1.45 to get to Las americas and los Cristianos. Super easy and so cheap. DO NOT USE UBER/TAXI (only use for airport) Their transport is so easy, it’s literally like London. If you use GetYourGuide for activities they also pick you up right around the corner from the hotel :)
So overall, I enjoyed my experience. It’s a great hotel they just need to update...
