Tonight’s experience was absolutely awful. Yesterday we walked past and really liked the vibe of this restaurant but had a booking elsewhere, we were really looking forward to trying it out tonight. But from start to finish it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. To begin with, we were sat down and our table was set. 30 minutes went by and we still had no menus, or no drink. No one came near us. I begrudgingly had to ask a waiter for a menu, he gave me a filthy look and went off to get the menus, then came back and threw the menus in the middle of the table and said “menus”. In the mean time 5 tables around us had arrived, been seated, served drinks and given their orders we still didn’t even have a glass of water ordered. No one came to take our order still. 10 minutes later I called a waiter and asked could we order, we did. When our food came out, I bit into the croquettes and they were frozen in the middle. I had to ask for new ones. We finished our meal which was average at best. After another long wait, I finally got a waiters attention ( the same one from the beginning) and asked him for the bill, he looked at me and said yes, but never came back. Waiting again, we asked another waitress for the bill, she came back with it, I paid up but only to realise after she walked away they had over charged us and charged for an expensive wine that I did not order. At this point I just wanted to leave, it was unacceptable and I am shocked at the terrible customer service from start to finish and from the servers to the kitchen it was an absolutely horrendous experience. I was a waitress for 10 years and I understand it is a tough job, and usually would never leave a bad review as I understand the difficulty of it but this was completely unacceptable so I just hope you won’t go...

In all my many many years of visiting Alcudia, I have never experienced something so intimidating!

We ate here as a booking of 8 and whilst our waitress was lovely, the manager was incredibly aggressive. As was one of the other male waiters who tutted and rolled his eyes when he got order wrong.

I actually felt anxious walking home as we were threatened by the manager. Think aggressive version of Mateo from Benidorm on steroids.

There were quite a few mistakes with our order (main courses came out with starters, drinks were very slow and when mains did come out they came out at different times which meant my husband had nearly finished by the time I started). So my husband asked if this could be reflected in the bill. My food was very disappointing compared to other restaurants nearby where it was much better.

The manager threw (literally threw it in a tin pot) our cheque at us and told us that if we didn’t pay, he would call the police and get ‘his people’ on us. He was shouting at my elderly father who had had no involvement in the bill discussion and none of us are confrontational in nature.

At no point were we ever not going to pay but would expect the chaotic service and mistakes to be taken into consideration. It was super intimidating and one other person in the restaurant came over and started tutting at me and children. We were just finishing our food. Feel English people are not welcome here?

My 8 year old got locked in the toilet and the manager accused him of breaking it. He was very scared and this was totally unnecessary. Safe to say, we won’t return. I work in hospitality and I would be mortified if any of my staff behaved this way and would be fired if service was this chaotic. Thankfully many other more welcoming restaurants to choose from...

WE WILL CAME BACK

My experience at Matevet during the day was very pleasant. Although it seemed that the team was a bit short-staffed, this did not affect the quality of the service at all. The waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive at all times, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The maitre d' and his team ensured everything went smoothly, standing out for their warm and professional service. The food was excellent, with well-executed flavors, and the sangria was one of the highlights of our visit, perfectly prepared.

Additionally, the location boasts stunning views that beautifully complement the dining experience. Enjoying a meal with such scenic surroundings is truly a luxury.

In terms of cleanliness and order, everything was impeccable, earning an 8 in both categories. The atmosphere was relaxed, well-organized, and very pleasant, making it an ideal spot to enjoy the day, the landscape, and the delicious food.

In summary, Matevet offers an unforgettable experience where exceptional service, delicious food, and breathtaking views come together. Highly recommended for a delightful...

I was searching for the best paella in Mallorca and came across this restaurant, which was highly recommended as having the best paella on the island. Since we were nearby, I decided to call and make a reservation. The staff spoke English, and the reservation process was smooth and hassle-free. We were seated on a comfortable sofa, which was perfect for our 3-year-old. A major plus was that they offered single portions of paella—something I greatly appreciated! Many restaurants on the island require a minimum of two people to order paella, which often posed a challenge when my husband wasn’t in the mood for a large meal (despite being in a land of incredible food!). I wasn’t disappointed—the paella was fresh, creamy, and absolutely delicious! My husband opted for spinach and ricotta tortellini, though he found it a bit dry. Meanwhile, the kids had spaghetti bolognese, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The ambiance was lovely, the service excellent, and we even discovered a fantastic local wine, Mortitz Blanc. Thank you for the wonderful food and service—it truly made our visit memorable!

We made a reservation as we saw on social media and reviews some positive feedback and expected it to be busy. The food and drinks were ok but not amazing. Staff were attentive and helpful. I would not suggest the seafood paella. I don’t have a photo but the taste was not as expected. The food I believe was kept too long in the serving dish or in the oven. Some of the seafood was overcooked and the crab legs were there for show only and with no meat. Plus my partner found the remanence of a stock cube. I was expecting more for what was seen on other reviews. Unfortunately I would not recommend to others for evening meal but maybe lunch for a quick bite as some other dishes were better.

Gorgeous restaurant in the marina, set just a bit further away from all the buzz but with gorgeous views of the sunset if your lucky. The service was super attentive and friendly. The food was gorgeous, full of flavour some more interesting combinations. Prawn Gyozas were so good, a must try! Octopus and cod were also delicious, with a beautiful flavour profile. And of course, the pistachio tiramisu just tops it all off, do not skip the dessert. The cocktails were a little averaged so stick to the wine. We came on a Sunday evening so it wasn’t too busy, but I imagine a wonderful vibe on a busy night. Would definitely return!
