The harbourside location is pretty nice and we got to enjoy a lovely sunset with our dinner. However, we left the restaurant still hungry, and paying over 25€ per person for this kind of meal felt like a rip-off.
The fried calamari starter was a big letdown. The batter was not crispy at all and lacked salt. Even squeezing lemon on top didn't change things much.
We got salads, which were around 16€ each and way overpriced. The prawn and avocado salad looked really tiny as there were very few prawns in it. The burratina and tomato salad was at least bigger, though I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the cheese (not creamy as burrata usually is and not so different in taste from regular mozzarella) and the toasted focaccia (thin crispy pieces, I was hoping for a thicker slice as you'd get at a bakery). The menu says there's pesto in this dish, but there was so little I could barely taste it.
Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend - it felt like a more upscale tourist trap. But who knows, perhaps ordering seafood makes for a better meal as other...
Read moreWe’ve already eaten here 2 times this week and wanted to go back today but it’s closed on Tuesday. We will go back for sure. The seafood is some We’ve had in the world, so fresh and cooked to perfection. A family owned restaurant since over 100 years. They obviously have the best suppliers in the country. The freshly grilled scallops with their roe attached had a beautiful sweetness. (So rare to get them still attached to their shells) the clams were perfect. The 900g sizzling gallega beef was delicious and cooked to perfection. The next day we had the crab (stewy) style of paella - the flavours and rice cooked to perfection. It’s a bit of work to get out all the crab but you’re on holiday and it makes more time to enjoy the food and the wine. The desserts were great and the service was excellent. This should be in the Michelin guide, I don’t understand why not....
Read moreOverall three stars for the nice service and the very tasty home made sangria. As reviews seemed to be very positive, we wanted to give this place a try for fish. We had in the past amazing pariadas in other islands, and are finding it quite hard to find genuinely good food here. My partner was very disappointed by his fish. In other places he payed 10euros less to have double the fish. He literally couldn’t eat the mussels, however the prawns were good. My fish was personally very nicely grilled. Our veggies (potatoes excluded) tasted as if they came straight out of the freezer, from some refrigerated bag (I saw the same back to England and they reminded me of those veggies). However, salad plates looked good. So we can’t say, but the taste was bland. What to say, the service was good and so the location. However, we’re still looking for the...
