Restaurante Mediterráneo Essence — Restaurant in Alcúdia

Restaurante Mediterráneo Essence is quite possibly the worst 'restaurant' I have visited- and I've visited some bad ones. The staff were just sitting around chatting when we arrived. They weren't attentive or very friendly. We were told the buffet was £21 each in advance. This is fair enough as it's primarily attached to a hotel. The buffet consisted of a chicken 'curry' 'carbonara' , some dried up old fish and a couple of other dishes, alongside stale, several day old salad and cold meats. I wish to god we'd just walked away, but we'd paid by then. My husband and I ate very little. I tried the 'curry' which was almost cold, with the meat looking slightly pink. It was tasteless and slimy. Certainly hadn't been near any spices! I had probably 2 mouthfuls. My son finished the 'curry' and tried some of the 'carbonara'. (also cold) He said it was tasteless and unpleasant, but was very hungry. We didn't have a desert as they looked old and out of date. I grabbed a kiwi and it was stale and hard. We took 3 small complimentary ice creams which were ok. We barely stayed 40 minutes because the food was vile and the atmosphere was awful.
