Went here after visiting the old town as I had a good feeling about it. Welcoming atmosphere and were catered for with good seating options. Before we ordered anything, we were handed some simple breads, garlic cheese spread and a few non pitted green olives to start before ordering which from experience I thought was complimentary and a nice touch.
We had a very nice galician fillet steak, quite expensive but worth it as it was cooked perfectly. Everything was satisfactory up to this point. To our dismay though, when the bill came out, we were charged am additional €10 for the bread and olives. This is a common tactic used by restaurantiers of what I would consider a lower standard. It was quote sneaky and wasn't appreciated at all. It it's not ordered, don't charge for it.
Disgraceful carry on and it will only reflect poorly on the establishment and it's staff as well as the tips they receive in the future. We honestly would've tipped that amount or even more but it was an insult to do something so contrived and sneaky. Bad practice and I hope they re-evaluate their methods especially when they're already charging top tier prices. 10 euro for bread and olives without? Without prior notice? Absolutely criminal in the majority of reputable establishments.
Hot tip: Find your margins elsewhere and don't insult...
Read moreNice surroundings it's a pity the staff are so rude and up them selves. The two men that served us were both ignorant and unpleasant to deal with the one that took our order didn't look at us once and when he was asked about the specials he couldn't be bothered, we were told it was salmon and veg and beef an veg. That was it I'm sure there was more to it than that, hardly bloody special, so mum ordered the salmon which arrived with no veg! ..food was good up until that main course we're I had over cooked duck really cold and over done I would of looked passed it only the staff were so up their own holes I'd just had enough...plus about an hour wait between courses so to wait an hour for over cooked duck was a huge let down....we are booked for alcudia next year again 6 of us and needless to say we will not be paying a visit to this restaurant we will take our money and spend it else were with somewhere with friendly atmosphere. I also work with alot of people on a daily basis who actually holiday here and recommend me to this area so I will be spreading my word and I doubt they will spend their money...
