Dakota Tex Mex - Port d'Alcúdia — Restaurant in Alcúdia

Was greeted by an english lady and shown to our table, waiter took our order of 2 x coke lights, and 2 x texas bbq ribs. Drinks arrived fine, and at that point we should have left! Ribs turned up and i instantly found out my fries were stone cold..... however my wife's were fine, piping hot in fact... ok so i got the last of the old batch, my wife the first of the new batch, these things happen... so i inform the waiter who just shrugs his shoulders and starts walking off, so called him back again and said i wanted them changing... this seemed to be of an inconvenience to him but alas he changed them. But then when going to eat my ribs, they were dry.. and i mean i had difficulty in getting the meat off the rib... they were the worse ever.... yet.... my wife's ribs... perfectly, moist, juicy and fall-off-the-bone meat! So this now leads me to believe it's not just the fries i caught on the old batch, it seems to me they plate the dishes complete when cooked and let them stand until someone orders them... this is would be reason why meal was so bad, yet my wife's perfect. So i go back to the waiter to inform him of the situation with the ribs, but he's having none of it, turning his back on me, so i just get on with it and make the best of a bed meal. When we had finished and plates taken away, the lady greeter who showed us to our table stopped by and asked if we had enjoyed our meal. My wife explained the situation and with that, she didn't want to know and walked off! Thus we got the bill, paid, and left. This was our 1st evening in Alcudia and having never been to the resort before, this especially left us with a bad taste in our mouth.. omg! what if all restaurants are this bad. When we returned to our hotel room i thought it appropriate to write a review of our experience to warn others, and i wrote this on the facebook group page of Alcudia Summer Fun. When passing the restaurant the next evening, the lady greeter, shouted at us from the restaurant 'Hey, you two!' and came charging down to the pavement where we were walking and became verbally aggressive at us for the review i had wrote.. in front of customer and pedestrians, she was quite threatening... we were shocked... I mean, c'mon, it was a bad meal that we gave them every opportunity to resolve, but instead they chose to ignore, and then they become threatening and aggressive to us as we are passing the restaurant the next day, as we left a honest and accurate review of our experience! Make of it what you will, we accept from time to time we will get served a bad meal, it happens... but then it's how the staff deal with this that makes the difference... this was a truly unforgettable experience, all for the wrong reasons which is a shame, as a simple replacement of the ribs, or reduction in the bill would have been all that was needed for us to leave a positive, or at the least a neutral...

We like to eat early so called in for a meal at 6.10. There were only a few others in the restaurant at that time. One table had about 8 people at it but other than that the restaurant was pretty empty. A waiter took our order at 6.15. Another couple came in and sat down and then a couple with a little baby. By 6.50 pm there was no sign of our meal yet the two couples who came in after us had been served their meals. The table of 8 were getting plenty of attention from the 5 waiters on duty. My husband asked where our food was. I had ordered steak and salad and he had ordered a chicken/beef pitta dish. He was told 5 mins. We waited 10 mins and it finally arrived. I was handed steak and chips. I didn't order chips They blamed the fact that I wanted my steak well done on the fact the meal had taken 45 mins. They also said the restaurant was busy. It wasn't. Although the meal was beautiful we wouldn't return to this restaurant. Also while we sat waiting on our meal the waiters were messing around and it appeared one threw a glass at the other. It was ok. It reminds me of Chilis back in the US, decent… but very basic. I had chicken fajitas and they were ok if you are hungry and just want food to put into your face… but there wasn’t much flavor. It’s advertised as American style (meat! meat! meat!) and has American prices too, so all in all, kind of overpriced for what it is. The waiter wasn’t very attentive but once we realized there was a buzzer, it was fine. I’ve never been anywhere with a waiter buzzer before so it would be nice if they told us that. Based on other reviews i’m not the only one. However, aside from that, other servers walking around were friendly as long as you caught their attention so i’m not complaining about that too much. The drinks were weak. To me, overall, it was a bit overpriced and will explore other places before considering coming back, but I can also see why many others would enjoy it. Especially if you love eating greasy cows. I’m choosing 3 stars but really it’s so mid that i’d rather give 2.5 if we had...
