26 Cocktail Room — Restaurant in Alicante

Very hostile and unfriendly staff that will hold you back until you buy something! We were a group of people, looking for a bar. I suggested this bar to my friends, as I have noticed earlier, they had a broad selection of gin. When I entered the bar alone before the other in my group showed up, i was met by a doorman that stopped me and asked what I wanted. I answered that I first wanted to have a look at their bar and wait for the others in my group. He then asked me how many there were coming, and I then replied that I didn't know at that point how many, but probably 3-4 people. He offered me a table, but I refused politely since I at that point wasn't sure either if or when the rest of the group would arrive. This bar was after all my own suggestion, and the rest of the group might be at a bar somewhere else. As I stood there at the bar and looking at their gin selection, I needed to go to the bathroom. When I got back from the toilet, I took an extra look at their gin selection, still waiting for the others in my group to show up. But no one else had come in the meantime. I checked my phone for calls and messages, but there was nothing. I then decided I wanted to leave the bar, as I had no interest in sitting there drinking alone. But, on my way out I was now stopped by the doorman, and with a strict voice he told me he had observed me using their toilet, which was reserved for clients, and now I had to buy either a beer or a drink! At the same time, he said this, he also closed the door opening with a thick rope, just to hold me inside the premises. I said that I didn't want to stay alone if the rest of my group didn't show up, but again he repeated that I needed to buy something. Again, he offered me a table for me and the rest of my friends, and again I refused politely, as I at this point wanted to find my friends that still haven't showed up. But he still denied me to leave and this time he placed himself in the middle of the doorway to prevent me from leaving. He then asked me when the rest of my group was going to show up, but still I had no idea. I then suggested to call one of my friends, and when I did that, my friend hang up on me and sending me a text that he will call me back any minute. The doorman was now even stricter and getting more angry and demanding me to buy something in the bar. Needless to say, my desire for buying a drink from a bar with such hostile staff had disappeared. At this point, the whole episode felt unrealistic. I wanted to leave the bar, but the doorman wouldn't let me. He let other people in but didn't want to let me out. So, there I was, standing in a bar where I couldn't leave. After some minutes, he needed to help a customer on the outside, and I took the chance of leaving the bar. In my whole 54 years life, I had never seen something like this. I really can't recommend a place like this with such unwelcoming and unfriendly staff, so be careful before you enter this bar as they will try to push you and hold you back until you...

Came here with a friend our first night in Alicante looking for a cocktail bar. We arrived here and thought it was a nice place. We ordered two different kind of Gin and tonics. Nothing spectacular for the price ( not cheap compared to different better places in Alicante ). After a while another friend arrived , she ordered a Vermouth. After twenty minutes waiting the cocktail came. We told the waiter we didn't want it anymore coz we had to wait for a long time and we were leaving. The waiter just gave us a look and put the vermouth on the table. We asked him to bring the bill and to take the vermouth away coz we won't drink it. So , after we paid the two gin's he asked us to leave the place immediately and took the gin's away even though we had already paid for them. Another waiter noticed what happened so he apologized and we could finish the gin's, but five minutes later this guy asked us to pay the gin's that we had already paid ten minutes earlier. Unbelievable... I wouldn't waste time or money having pretty regular cocktails in a place where the stuff is this rude...

We visited 26 Cocktail Room for a drink after dinner, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were stopped at the door by a staff member who acted as if there was no room available. After a brief radio conversation with someone, he eventually let us in. Once inside, we noticed there was only one guest at the bar and one occupied table – the rest of the tables were empty. This already left us wondering what kind of place this was.

Inside, we were completely ignored for about 40 minutes. The waitstaff seemed more interested in fooling around than attending to guests. Just as we were about to leave, someone finally came to take our order. While the cocktails were served quickly after that, they were fairly average and certainly not worth the 40-minute wait.
