Mixed Experience at Paesano Ristorante, Playa San Juan

Our recent visit to Paesano Ristorante in Playa San Juan left us with mixed feelings, despite the restaurant's positive reviews on The Fork. Eager to take advantage of the 30% discount, my friends and I embarked on our culinary adventure with high hopes, only to encounter a blend of disappointment and satisfaction.

The food presentation was commendable, but unfortunately, the flavors failed to meet our expectations. Our friends began with the "Ensalada de Pasta," a warm pasta salad. However, what should have been a delightful mix of ingredients turned out to be a lackluster dish. The absence of the promised aceite de hierbas rendered the oriccieti pasta with goat cheese, asparagus, and bread crumbs nearly tasteless. Despite attempts to enhance the flavor with olive oil and salt, the dish remained underwhelming.

Moving on to the main courses, both husbands opted for the lasagna. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. The overpowering presence of meat (which tasted like a blend of pork and beef) combined with a watery bolognese resulted in a dish that lacked the delicate balance between meat and pasta that lasagna is known for.

My friend's "Spaguetti Casero" and my "Roigatoni Carbonara" (yup, spelled that way on their menu) also left us feeling conflicted. While the pasta's texture was praiseworthy, the sauces once again fell short in terms of flavor. In my case, the carbonara sauce was overly thick, bordering on a slightly gummy consistency, which hindered the overall enjoyment.

Despite the culinary letdown, the standout aspect of our experience was the service. The staff was remarkably attentive and courteous. Their efforts played a significant role in elevating our dining experience.

Our visit to Paesano Ristorante was a mix of disappointment and satisfaction. While the food flavors didn't live up to the hype, the service provided a silver lining to the experience. Cozy and agreeable restaurant. If you want to feel the taste real of food and get away from the downtown craziness, then this is the perfect place to go. The portions seem to be freshly cooked and of appropriate size without asking you to dig too deep into your wallet. Hoy para el dia del padre fui con mi hija adolescente a un restaurante previamente reservado...Italiano con supuestas maravillosas reseñas ????No pueden ser reales tales reseñas, es imposible. 45 minutos esperando una ensalada de espinacas duras, no brotes tiernos. De las 2 pizzas que pedimos anulamos una a al haber esperado ya casi 2 horas para una ensalada y 1 pizza regular con 2 aguas. Nos fuimos sin pedir postres por la lentitud ... La mesa de 3 frente a nosotros no podian mas y se quejaron tambien que llevaban 2 horas esperando su comida... no quiero hundir a nadie y pago lo que se debe para un buen restaurante. Pero es imposible tan buenas reseñas esto es fake. No volveré nunca mas si esto no mejora... Mi familia tuvo un restaurante durante 25 años y jamás vi una tal desorganisacion. Vinieron 2 veces a nuestra mesa con platos equivocados. Una joven pareja llegada despues de nosotros fueron atentidos antes que nosotros y otras mesas esperando.
