Saona Alicante — Restaurant in Alicante

If you going to spoil your celebration of Birthday or any other you have to come here. Very terrible service, where the staff creates a problem without any solution options and provokes conflict.

My wife reserved a table by the phone call for 6 persons and mentioned that it is her Birth Day celebration and mentioned that table going to be ocupied for the whole evening.

But when we all come here with our friends waiter came to make an order for food from than 30min. And when she come to our table (in 40min) she started shoud that we have to go away in 30 minutes becouse they have reservation for this table.

Conversation with admin did not help. We were try to be very constructive and ask for possible alternative, but from this staff was only one option for us - to go away.

One point wich is very nasty it's the way of speking waiter to us, she shouted and show with her maner that she hate us, I'm not sure is it rasizm, bad mood or anithing else. The attitude was clearly biased from the very beginning. We faced this type of attitude in Spain first time, of +3 years of living here.

Our goal for evening was to seat in good atmosfere with our friends.

Facts which proofing my words In case we were informed, would not go to your place for 1.5 hour Birthday celebration. If your waiter come in time we would order a meal, wich was not happen, because waiter come in 40min and started shoud that we have to go away in 30 min.

What I see that "Good Service" and shift responsibility from your institution's actions to the client are your politics. Otherwise, you could to conduct an internal investigation and find that you have major service problems. Unfortunately or fortunately, we did not have chance to evaluate...

The food was good. Relatively expensive, around 50% higher what it worth. Meanwhile the portion is small around 50% smaller. I wouldn't mind it if the environment and the atmosphere would worth it BUT unfortunately those do not! ☹️ It is very loud, people are shouting as they were on a football match or in a concert. There is now way to have a decent conversation during the meal. The interior is cheap. The style is clean moder style, not elegant and somehow everithg feels cheap. Cheap decoration, the floor is painted (no tiles, no wooden floor) also the wall until around 1m height with the same colour. It looks just bad. Above that it is white. The line between the 2 different colours is wavy. Not intentionally just badly done. The staircase also poor quality. The chairs are not comfy. There are 2 different types of chair which also makes the style messy. I only tried 1 of them. It was truly uncomfy after 10 min. The toilet is also under any acceptable level. So there is no reason at all why anyone should pay the extra cost for the meal. I did not feel good in there with my wife. After 5-10 min I was hoping for leaving soon. I will probably never go back. We had reserved a table for 6 people at 8:00 PM to celebrate a birthday, which we had clearly communicated by phone in advance.

Upon arrival, the waitress rudely and loudly scolded us, claiming that the table we were seated at (by the hostess) was meant for 10 people. We had no issue relocating, but when we asked where to move, we were told we would be asked to leave the restaurant in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

This was surprising, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty and we had only ordered drinks. We asked again about possible options, explaining that we intended to order food and drinks throughout the evening. Instead of a constructive response, both the hostess and the waitress became confrontational, insisting that such time limits are standard practice across Spain.

When we mentioned that our experience at other restaurants has been very different—particularly when celebrating special occasions—we were accused of lying. After that, no one even came to take our food order.

The experience was disappointing and upsetting, but we ended up reserving a table at another restaurant at the same time, where we were welcomed without issues.
