A Symphony of Spices at Delhi Delights
During my gastronomic escapades in Tenerife, I was fortunate to visit "Delhi Delights" in Los Cristianos. This Indian restaurant turned out to be a revelation, offering an array of dishes that were as flavorful as they were memorable.
The Culinary Highlights
The star of the show was the Spicy Chili Chicken Curry. This dish was a fiery delight, rich in spices and packed with heat. The chicken was tender and infused with the robust flavors of chili, making it a perfect choice for those who love their food with an extra kick.
Accompanying the curry were two exemplary sides: the Onion Bhaji and Coconut Rice. The onion bhaji was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It was a flavorful appetizer that set a high standard for the meal. The coconut rice, on the other hand, was a sublime addition, with its mild sweetness and fluffy texture complementing the spicy curry beautifully.
The Butter Naan continued to impress, soft and with a melt-in-the-mouth quality, proving to be an ideal accompaniment for the curry.
Generous Portions and Exemplary Flavors
The portion sizes were impressively generous, ensuring a fulfilling meal. The balance of flavors across all dishes was remarkable, catering perfectly to a palette that appreciates authentic Indian cuisine.
Attentive and Friendly Service
The service at Delhi Delights was another high point. The staff were extremely attentive, responding promptly to our requests and ensuring that our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable.
Concluding Thoughts
"Delhi Delights" stands out as a culinary gem in Los Cristianos for its authentic Indian flavors, generous portions, and excellent service. The Spicy Chili Chicken Curry, along with the delightful onion bhaji and coconut rice, make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone in Tenerife craving authentic...
Read moreFirst off, hate to sound like a Karen but this was a poor experience. If you look back at my reviews, I eat Indian food a lot and always praise good establishments. Upon arrival you’re told you can get a starter, main, side and dessert for a set price, however it is not made clear that it is only specific items and we were handed the normal menu. Service was friendly and polite to begin with. Starters were average at best but the main curries were bland and tasteless with the “lamb” quite clearly being mutton. We left most of our mains in the end. When the bill came and was a lot higher than expected and we enquired, the waiter quite clearly had heard this complaint before and was abrupt and dismissive, saying we had expensive items (presumably the mutton, base sauce and a lot of onions…) To sum up, poor quality food which is overpriced and misleading. We have previously eaten at Balti Balti on two occasions which is located around the corner, the food there is outstanding and great value for money and we will be back there before the end of our stay. But as for Delhi Delights…...

Having tried a few Indian places on the island and having great experiences with them, we thought that we would try here, all I can say is that I wish we hadn’t. Staff should make it clearer that the set menu is only certain things, we went in assuming that we were ordering for that, which I believe we made clear only to find out at the end that our bill was much much higher than expected.
Now the food… aside from being extremely overpriced for what I can assume is the lowest quality ingredients possible, the food was bland, essentially tasteless. Both my starter and my main was comprised of mostly onions and both tasted watery and vaguely of tomato. Though any flavour at all would have been brilliant.
If you’re nearby and fancy an Indian, I wouldn’t bother with here. Balti Balti is around the corner, their food is great, their portions are great and the service is, you guessed...
