Had a really strange experience here, probably most we have ever had travelling. First off, the food is amazing, genuinely some of if not the best Indian food of what we had (such as onion bahjis).
They advertise a fairly priced set menu, but when we sat down we weren't offered it until we asked for it, before being dressed down that they weren't making money on it and preferred customers purchasing from the full menu (although we did see it offered to others, namely Spanish speaking and others - we are obviously British so assume they know we usually pay more very slightly). Fine, but don't advertise it and then don't wonder why we asked for it. It just set the tone super wrong and made us feel guilty for being there - just super strange. We just ordered starters, the curries, then the dessert is meant to be honeyballs but we were told they were out and given one small scoop of cheap ice cream. I don't think this was true as it wasn't mentioned upfront and just an area they're looking to skimp on. Why not advertise it as a 2 course meal instead?
It's a real shame as the food is so premium, but they're really ruining the experience with some really minor things. I cannot give them a higher star rating for these things as you can't leave customers feeling like they've done something wrong visiting and not ordering from a more expensive menu - and their set menu is more expensive...
Read moreThis week was our second trip back to tenerife, and all we could think about was getting back to tandoori hut again after trying it on our first visit. It was our first meal as soon as we arrived!!
The restaurant itself is lovely, we sat in the open part, it has nice views over the beach. The staff are so friendly and attentive, we turned up without booking (2 of us) and they happily accommodated and we was seated straight away. We do eat early though so I'd suggest booking if going later as it does get busy, understandably when I tell you about the food...(even when it gets busy the service is still spot on)
Where to start..we ordered the tandori chicken and cheese sizzler to start and share, it is amazing! The nicest, tender chicken sizzling away with melting cheese all on too. Never had this combination before tandoori hut, but it works! Our curry, oh my word, they are the nicest we've had and curry is my favourite dish. I ordered the butter chicken which just melts in your mouth, so flavoursom, creamy and fresh. My partner ordered a medium garlic chicken which was so tasty and the nicest garlic with spices. The naan breads are not your standard! They are more flatbread style that are so soft and fluffy, they are just delicious. If you haven't been..gooooo!!
Honestly, I'd travel to tenerife just for tandoori...

After being brought to this place by my nose (not even kidding, the smell leaking onto the street was irresistible), I returned a couple of days later to try it out. Still not sure whether it was a good idea because I think I've gained a new addiction.
The food is simply beautiful. Everything from the perfectly spiced dough of the meat samosas, to the tenderness of the chicken and richness of the curries. Eating here makes you feel like you've suddenly been teleported to a home in India where grandma is cooking for you.
Although everything is delicious, the meat samosas were outstanding, and the traditional dessert suggested by our server, who was a lovely, very respectful and efficient guy, was the icing on the cake which was a perfect dinner.
The venue might seem small, but it's very well layed out and decorated with great taste. It is also situated just above a promenade which you might want to walk down to help digesting all the great food...
