Karian Apartments Tenerife — Hotel in Arona

I am delighted to write a review of the apartment I rented for one week in a quiet residential area in Los Christianos. Having arrived earlier than expected, I was so pleased to see that Karen had sent one of her staff to meet me outside the apartment with the keys. Christine showed me the way and on entry I was pleasantly surprised to find a modern, spotless apartment with every conceivable thing you would ever need in a home, let alone a rented apartment. Fully equipped kitchen ( with more utensils than I have at home) cleaning materials, food clips to tie up that opened grocery item. A few welcome items (some tea bags, coffee, salt etc) to get you started before you had time to unpack and get to the supermarket. The gorg fully equipped, modern shower room, with ample storage. The bedroom had two double wardrobes, double drawer unit, bedside cabinets, lamp, mirror chair, and double bed ( although 2 single beds would have suited my particular needs better, as I was holidaying with another female friend) The lounge and dining area was beautifully furnished and decorared to a high standard. Tv. Drinking glasses of every description for your after dinner drinks. Having ventured out the patio doors I was blown away by the size of the balcony, which housed a dining table and 4 balcony chairs and still had room for the clothes horse provided. There was also an outdoor socket which was handy for mobile phone / music etc. The views from the balcony was extremely beautiful, a well groomed, stunning oasis of garden with paths that led to the swimming pools, ample sunbeds. A tranquil haven to rest in after a busy morning in the hussle and bustle of the town. The apartment block is very clean and well maintained and the security of the complex is very evident. There is also a safe in the apartment. I can only give the maximum stars for such a great holiday spot. I highly recommend karian apartments for their due diligence in ensuring that I had the best holiday experience. Nothing was a bother to them and I felt a valued customer. Firstly, a much more comprehensive, truthful description should be available on this apartment, particularly its position. It’s only fair now that I let people know. The apartment is high up which we were aware of as the complex is called ‘The Heights’. What we didn’t know was that you have to take 3 lifts (elevators) to get to it from the ground floor. So it’s lift 1, walk across the corridor, lift 2, walk across a corridor, lift 3 then walk across the corridor to the apartment. And only then do you find that there is no view, you’re within a walkway and next to the lift for the next floor up. There is no natural light in the apartment and no sunshine on the terrace. The apartment itself is just ok, not overly clean and horrible nylon bed linen. Terrible dusty mess under the furniture, floor dirty when walking around in bare feet. The drains smell in the bathrooms and the shower tray in the main bathroom fills with water when showering. The en-suite shower is a terrible squeeze to get in and out of. If you have anything above a 30” waist, you won’t be able to use it. The toilets also were very stained. We actually bought some bleach to help them look a little cleaner. You are given some keys with no information of what is what. We finally worked out that 3 are for the doors to let yourself in and out and one is for the pool. There is no information in the apartment, no booklet telling you about the WiFi, how to use the TV, where to put your rubbish etc. So we just had to work it all out ourselves. We weren’t offered any bedding or towel changes in 12 days. Positives are that the pool area is nice, as is the pool bar. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend this apartment at all and would never stay again.

THE PHOTOS OF THE APARTMENT SHOW A VIEW OF THE POOL, LEADING YOU TO BELIEVE ITS FROM THE APARTMENT!!! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY **WE ABSOLUTELY DID NOT RECEIVE CLEAN TOWELS OR BEDDING!!! Although I booked the apartment in Laguna Park 1 for a week for my son and wife, unfortunately they didn't stay even one night due to cockroaches. They were met by two big ones and one baby one on the night they arrived, one of which was on the sofa. As such, and because there was no spray in the apartment, they couldn't face sleeping in the bed because they didn't know if there was an infestation, or where they were coming from. The following morning, I emailed Karian Apartments and they said they'd send the cleaner straight over, but it was late afternoon before that happened. As they had already lost a whole day of their holiday and there were no guarantees that the cockroaches could be dealt with, my son and his wife decided to book somewhere else. At this point, I emailed Karian Apartments and asked if, as a goodwill gesture, they would be willing to refund some of the booking, and they could let it out again, but was met with silence. Even if they had offered the cleaning fee I would have been happy, because after all, since the apartment wasn't used all the cleaner had to do was dispose of the carcasses! On checking the apartment some 3 days later there were 3 dead cockroaches (all adult) which proves the treatment was working I suppose, but the source needs to be identified.
