We have come by, this time with some more friends as we’ve loved this food so much, last time.
We also took the tasting menu again, on Jan 25th 2022 and unfortunately, it was not as convincing as last time. But we had a good time and enjoyed the evening quite a lot.
UNTIL TWO DAYS LATER… judgment day!
We all (6 people in total) had to throw up and had the worst (it must be something in the food) we have ever experienced in our lives. We wanted to come back personally to tell the owner but we did not have the energy nor the time to stop by during the last days of our stay on the island…
We feel so sorry that the quality has deteriorated this much. However, it is quite unprofessional and unforgivable of the restaurant to process food so badly it led to this terrible result. We would never set a foot there ever again, as it makes us just sick thinking about it.
Hopefully the restaurant would take measures to prevent this from happening to other guests in the future.
@Rachelle Mercatoris: We feel you!! It happened in the same week, so there must have been something bad in the food. And as the Restaurant claimed: why others did not report this might come from the fact that not all people have the time to return to tell them that, or they might not know which restaurant it might come from. We also thought at first, that it comes from some other sources, but it could not be, as one of our friend who has left earlier to go back home, who dined with us together the last time at this restaurant experienced the same symptoms as we did, on the very same day it broke out for the 5 of us who stay longer on the island. A coincidence? I very much doubt it!
And it’s quite a non-satisfactory answer from the restaurant to decline all responsibilities just because we didn’t go to a hospital to have this conditions written on a piece of paper?! Why would I make up such a story?!
It’s unbelievable!! I really hope the restaurant will take this health issue seriously! We’re young and healthy individuals, what if it happens to elderly people who might not put this away so easily?! It dare not imagine this scenario!

This is one of my best food experiences I‘ve had on Tenerife so far. I don‘t often write reviews but once something truly convinces me, I feel obliged to share it. We had the „small“ tasting menu and an additional ceviche to share. And every single dish was tasty. The portions were quite generous as well. We all went home super happy and satisfied. I‘ll definitely come back soon. Highly recommended! Don‘t miss the opportunity to stop by if you‘re in Los Christianos. The staff was very professional and friendly. Thank you & keep up...
Read moreI wish we could talk about fond memories of Qapaq (such as our first visit which was a brilliant experience), but that was before December 31st, our doomsday. I really wanted to go full Karen on the restaurant, but had no strength to go back as all of my insides felt like on fire and it hurt so much I could barely move. After returning from Spain, my spouse and I decided it would be a great idea to finish our honeymoon here. €98/pp (drinks not included, of course) is not bad for a tasting menu. We were a little disappointed that we did not receive the cotillons and "uvas" that were promised at the end of the evening, but hey! We were unaware that the worst was actually on the horizon just two days after our wonderful evening there. I didn't think my husband knew better than the chef, particularly in light of the restaurant being mentioned in the Michelin guide, but he had the suspicion that the oyster wasn't handled and cooked properly, it looked raw and tasted dodgy. Sadly, I must say he was probably correct! Also, the two steaks we got were quite different, one was ultra rare (practically alive), the other one medium. I realise it was the busiest night of the year, but it's quite unacceptable from any restaurant, let alone a more prestigous one.
What followed was two days of (literally) playing hot-seat in the bathroom, leaking from all orifices. Just imagine the Family Guy episode when they consume the Ipecac syrup. I'm not sure if the world is ready for a picture of a mole sauce a'la Qapaq just yet, but I could include pictures as evidence if needed. I honestly wouldn't recommend these last few days to my worst enemies; my review is for laughs, not me or us. I can only hope that Qapaq would at least issue a refund for the evening, to help cover the dry...
Read moreUpdate:
On the 21st of October we were gifted a coupon for a taste meal for two from our friends. As it was holidays we decided to wait till January to visit the restaurant. We booked for 18th of January, and on the same day it was raining pretty badly so we called and they kindly let us change the reservation to the next Thursday (25th), which is today. They called us just now saying they are cancelling our reservation because our coupon is expired since it's been over 3 months since it was purchased.
They never told us last Thursday that we only had a few days left to use it. They let us change our reservation without a warning. They refuse to accept our reservation stating it's against their rules to allow a guest to use an expired bono.
An absolute disgrace from customer service. I've been to Qapaq two times before and it was one of my top restaurants in the area, I even had a 5 star review for them from my last visit, but I'm changing that now as it's disgraceful that they'd not allow a bono to be used (that's been paid for!) and not offer a refund to my friends at least.
