Oiné Trattoria Italiana - cucina napoletana — Restaurant in Arona

We found this restaurant on a back street and saw it had mainly good reviews. It was empty when we arrived and not much busier when we left, but we were offered a choice of 2 centre tables..the rest were reserved which boded well. The menu has lots of choices but little explanation of the dishes. The staff have almost no English. The ragu napolitano with meatballs came with 1 meatball and was small, tasty but overpriced at €13. The house red wine was fine at €3.50. The waiter showed me to the Ladies toilet but the door was unlocked and after pushing the door closed, out walked a male staff member. All 3 men standing around thought this was funny..the Men's toilets is just around the corner and was empty, but he didn't see the need to use that! We were charged a service charge of €2.. I like to have that choice myself. Left feeling disappointed...

This must be one of the best Italian restaurants not only in tenerife but outside of Italy(It surpasses that of many italians I've had in the UK). The food was fresh, tasty and perfect portion sizes and at more than a reasonable price. The wine is easy drinking and the service is excellent. Bernardo is a great waiter who is attentive and has time for customers. We ended up visiting twice because the food was so great! I would recommend you book for the evening to avoid disappointment. We first visited on wednesday evening at 1930 and there were no customers but by the time we left it was getting busy and on our second visit on friday at 2100 there were no tables left but luckily we had booked earlier in the day on Facebook. So deeply disappointed 😞 we spend 6 months per year here and always see queues to visit this restaurant, we were very excited to have booked and we are totally amazed as to why people would queue??? Food was disgusting 🤮 plain meatballs for starters served with nothing else but in a silver prison bowl and cold, steak was shocking, more fat than the cheapest piece of steak I’ve ever tasted! Charged extra for fries but they were cold and had been refried most of the day by the looks! Pasta and meatballs consisted of 1!!!! 1 meatball!! And hard pasta!
