Let's start with the good: food is OK. There's also enough choice. Staff is super friendly.
Atmosphere and interior could be improved and updated, but not a deal-breaker.
The not so good: the price doesn't include local tax (IGIC). 11,95€ for buffet is great price, but they will add 7% on top of it and on all the overpriced drinks. Yes, the price of buffet not including IGIC is displayed at the bottom corner of the board outside, but 99% of the tourists don't even know what 'IGIC' is. Anyway, 7% doesn't seem like a lot, but if you add it on the total bill with overpriced drinks, then you end up paying more than other Chinese buffets in Tenerife, while expecting to pay less. Not getting to see the drinks menu is also part of the issue. They friendly ask you what you would like to drink and then you get to see the price on your bill. It's understandable that they need a higher price to compensate for the 'low' buffet price, but these tricks leave a bad taste in your mouth. It definitely ruined my experience.
A bit more transparency, indicating prices that already include IGIC tax, providing drinks menu upfront, would help everyone to manage their expectations and would improve the service...
Read moreOkay, okay, I admit we only went here because we had an idea of ‘Let’s be properly British and go for a Chinese in Tenerife!’. Sort of the same as when you just have to go to McDonalds to see what’s different to simply look at each other in amazement and saying ‘it tastes the same!’
The food was average but plentiful. It was topped up very frequently and the servers were checking it out every other minute. We went on a Wednesday evening in September so it was relatively quiet.
The owners are lovely, charming and love interacting with their customers. And the customers? Nothing gave me much joy than watching a mother of a pair of screaming sticky kids spill black bean sauce all over her paper white primark dress! It’s definitely a British...
Read moreBest value for money. With only 13 eur, you have a huge variety of chinese food, around 30+ types of food, varying from different soups, vegetables, and other side dishes like french fries, noodles, rice and so on, then different types of meats, chicken, beef, pork, all prepared in different styles, and quite a few desert options, including 7 types of ice-cream. The location is not fancy, it’s quite basic, but the food is very good, they serve you very fast, and are very hospitable, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I highly recommend the hot and sour soup, it was very tasty, and I have also had various types of chicken, all tasty. Honestly, if you want to go for chinese food, you won’t get a better...
