Ocean Freaks Surf Café & Burgers – Playa de las Américas — Restaurant in Arona

I visited Ocean Freaks Surf Café & Burgers and lost my ring, which staff found and placed behind reception for me to collect. I confirmed I’d pick it up the next day, but when I returned for my second surf lesson, it was gone — either misplaced or taken. The ring had great sentimental value, which made this really upsetting. I contacted management and let them know I’d be back on the island to give them another chance to locate it, but I haven’t received any reply. Very disappointing experience with management. On a positive note, Tim and Pete, the surf instructors, were fantastic — friendly, helpful, and created a great atmosphere. They were the highlight of an otherwise unfortunate situation.

The restaurant has a relaxed vibe, making it a perfect spot for people to work, meet friends, or relax after surfing. It reminded me of my trip to a surf camp in Portugal, specifically a hostel. The interior is quite simple, resembling a hostel living room, and is adorned with various surfing photos, ocean scenes, posters, and decorative surfboards. There’s also a cozy corner with leather sofas and a TV, where I think surfers gather to watch recordings of their rides.

Go there! The best burgers of the island! The restaurant lays a bit hidden in a back alley but still has a great ocean view. The food is absolutely the best.

If you are fed up with all the pre cooked buffet restaurants and deep fried food, this is the place to be. We had the burger, granola bowl, omelette and two croissants. All were absolutely fabulous.
