The Players Lounge — Restaurant in Arona

UPDATE: Came here quite often Dec 2020, really good food, BUT, came one Sunday night, had food & drinks, quite busy as usual (which was good to see during this pandemic), but @ 9pm a guy was telling everyone last orders for drinks. At 9.15 he was putting all tables & chairs away , people were feeling rushed & began leaving, @ 9.40pm we were the only ones left (so were our table & 2 chairs!!) I understand the 10pm-6am curfew due to Covid, but have never been rushed like this b4. When we passed the following day a young guy was outside trying to get business, but told him unhappy about the night b4, told him we did understand about the curfew, but that many bars/ restaurants were still open when we were walking back to our aptmt. He then said many places pay the police to turn a blind eye!!!! I REALLY DON'T think so during this Pandemic!!!! Must also say, the older guy (normally outside,getting business,worked there for yrs!) is now def best of the team along with Carrie-Ann. He even came up to have a quiet word with six guys who were mouthing off, & people were leaving,while the younger guys of the team just ignored it.

Went to watch the England Croatia game there, we reserved our table and greeted by a very polite young man who said the waitress would come and take our order for food .the waitress who was dressed in a black vest and shorts gave us the menus and said they had a big game food special on at the minute which looked very nice we looked through the menu and after 10 minutes she came back to take our order ...only to be told the big game special had SOLD OUT🤔🤔🤔"how can u sell out of a special 30 minutes b4 the games even kicks off I asked " only to be blanked and given the dirtiest look which totally p####d me right off ...she never served our table for the rest of the night and she never smiled for the rest of the night , just glared over giving me the evil eye most of the time .....then to totally take the piss 10 mins into the second half she brings 2 big games specials out (SUPPOSED TO BE SOLD OUT 🤣🤣!!)I can only assume they were friends of the family !.needless to say at the end of the game we asked for the bill which came and I waited for my change for around 10 mins but I never got it , I thought if your that desperate for a tip then keep it .. so due to crappy service from 1 waitress I only...

This is a great bar to come and visit, the staff are so friendly and attentive. We mostly would pop up to the bar when the sun got a bit too much around 3pm; a somewhat dangerous move as on a few occasions we left slightly wonky eyed having watched the sun set!

No, everyone is not drinking Carling, there just seems to be an excess amount of Carling glasses!

The bar was busy every time we visited so it had a great atmosphere. We stopped by one evening around 7pm and it was slightly quieter but then started filling with evening guests. Day or night it's a decent spot to watch the world go by.

We had a few of the pub style lunch items; salad, burger, chips etc. All of the food was good enough for what we required, I'm unsure if the evening menu differs but they certainly had a lot of patrons stopping by for dinner the evening we visited.

You won't go wrong stopping in here whether it be for a coffee, lager, tequila or food, you'll be well...
