Aire Restaurante — Restaurant in Barcelona

We found this small restaurant as we had to spend some time at Hospital Universitario Dexeus which is diagonally across the street. We started going there in November 2021 and we have never been disappointed. Aire is a very popular venue for office workers at lunchtime. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait to get seated at peak time (between 1400 and 1500). We like to get there at opening time: 1300 and we've always found a table. Pili, the owner is very welcoming and with the help of the waiter Pedro and another girl behind the bar they manage to turn tables around very efficiently. There is a weekly seasonal Menú del Día which includes starter, main course and dessert. Wine is not included. They have a good selection of wines. Jose is the chef owner and he manages to create traditional Spanish dishes and sofisticated new ones. Beautifully presented and cooked. We spent €45 for two, which included two glasses of wine each and one coffee. I have read other reviews complaining that portions are too small. I disagree, if you eat the three course meal you are perfectly satisfied. We tried their breakfast for the first time today and it was delicious. You can opt for the traditional "callos" (tripe) or bacon and eggs. They also prepare varied hot or cold "bocadillos". With freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee our bill was €22 for the tripe and two fried eggs, potatoes and a generous portion of bacon. We highly recommend Aire. Can't wait to be back at the end...

Terrible experiencia: muy mal trato por parte de los camareros de sala. Por cercanía laboral solemos frecuentar este restaurante desde hace muchos años. Especialmente cuándo somos grupos grandes de trabajo o viene gente de fuera ya que la cocina es excelente. Pero hoy, una ocasión especial para el equipo, que acudimos a comer se ha visto completamente ensombrecida por el mal trato que hemos recibido por parte de las empleadas de sala: Teníamos reserva y la mesa que nos habían reservado estaba aún ocupada, cosa perfectamente entendible. Cuándo se quedado libre, a pesar de que ya llevábamos un buen rato esperando, a pesar de que nos han invitado varias veces con muy malas caras a esperar fuera, han preparado todas las mesas pequeñas vacías del restaurante antes de comenzar a recoger la nuestra. Una de las personas se encontraba mal y hemos pasado a sentarnos en la mesa y con PESIMOS MÓDALES nos han increpado a que no nos sentáramos y nos han hecho seguir esperando durante al menos 30 minutos más. Por supuesto han tomado nota a tres mesas cuyos comensales han entrado en el restaurante con posterioridad. Una vez sentadas en la mesa nos han tenido esperando 20 minutos sin tomarnos nota de la bebida. Una vez que han tomado todas nuestras comandas y al ver que no había anotado un postre nos ha increpado con la siguiente frase textual: "Oye, ahora paramos de hablar y pedimos la comanda y luego hablamos", con malas formas. Hemos pedido quitar un hielo de un vaso y MALAS FORMAS, no nos han puesto pan en toda la comida y lo hemos tenido que pedir, y han tenido un tratamiento chulesco y desafiante muy muy desagradable lo que es una pena porque la comida es francamente...

Good spot for lunch. Menu changes every week . Choice of appetizer, entree and dessert at €17 for the quality and presentation food very good . €3 glass of wine . No frills place but really good food would visit again..mostly locals only which is indication to me of good place...
