Aspic — Restaurant in Barcelona

Als mein Mann und ich nach dem Arztbesuch dort vorbei gingen auf der Suche nach einem schönen Café hatten wir beide als wir dort standen ein seltsames Gefühl, kein gutes Gefühl, jedoch hatten wir uns gegenseitig dieses Gefühl zu dem Zeitpunkt nicht kommuniziert und außerdem sah ja alles normal und gepflegt aus. Später jedoch als wir uns darüber austauschten, stellten wir fest, dass wir beide diese schlechte Vorahnung gehabt hatten.

Sorry but the service is making the atmosphere and if the service is bad the atmosphere is bad, too.

Hello dear ladies and gentlemen, as I was witnessing a lot of rude people of course that kinda demeanours your positive mood and you kinda don’t wanna think about it because it feels bad. That’s what happened to me. So I started to report them. If they are not liking their job, maybe they’re communicating this by rebelling. Who knows why they do it, right? I am surely not interested to find out, but have to report it still, I am having many reasons to do so. One of them is of course to let you know, another is that to stand up for myself.

I have beared witness in a certain kind of behaviour in human psychology, often some people behave very rudely and poorly if they think that you are weak and that they can do it to you. And they think that you won’t tell about it.

My boyfriend and I came to have a few drinks at your establishment because it looked civilised, and everything was normal until my boyfriend left and as soon as I was sitting there by myself the older waiter with glasses started to act very unprofessional and rude, he was slamming the glasses on my table and also slammed a “reserved” sign on my table while I still was sitting there. (You can see the “reserved” sign on the picture.

I went to the restroom leaving a bag with medication (we just came from the Turoparc clinic) and my drinks at the table, when I came out my table was empty. I asked the waiter, he was trying to ignore me, so I stood there waiting. When he saw that I was not going anywhere he gave me the bag with my medicine… and nothing more. I asked him for the drinks which were quite new as well, he said that the table is reserved and stuff. Until another guest told him “she is asking for her drinks, because you took her drinks away”. Another waiter came, he apologised kindly and told me to sit. I sat, the older waiter with glasses came and slammed me my drinks right there in front of my face. Actually in retrospect - I should have just left right away -, because of this absolute rudeness. But I stayed, drank my drink, paid and then I left.… I was in a quite good mood before this happened, actually I wanted to explore the shops nearby and wanted to go to try on a nice coat and also those nice Dior sneakers which I saw in a small boutique near your establishment. But ended up not going to any of these because I was so upset. How do you even let these kind of people work there? Unbelievable.

Wonderful find near Parc del Turó! We were heading to a different restaurant which was full and rather rude about it so did a search and found Aspic nearby. Food was excellent, many choices that are unique to Catalonia, Barcelona, and also this particular chef!

Eliseo guided us through choosing the best possible dishes, and everything was just delicious. Very highly recommended. (Photos in reverse order.... ) Both desserts were delicious. The lamb chop and the special beef Barcelona style were wonderful. The cod fish salad was arguably our favorite dish, and the appetizer was unique to this restaurant, ham wrapping crispy wonton type skins filled with fresh tomatoes. We wished we had more room to try more of...

If you are looking for a different Barcelona experience this is the place to go. The food and presentation were creative. Each dish was explained. The decor was simple but very pretty. The staff was attentive until it got crowded and we were done with our meal. We were then basically ignored which could have been a good thing as they didn't rush us out, but we waited a while to get our check and we did want more wine. All together a...
