During our stay in Barcelona, we couldn't help but notice the bustling atmosphere and popularity of CACHO. Located just a few blocks from our hotel, this charming restaurant always seemed to be brimming with people, especially those enjoying the outdoor seating. Intrigued by its lively ambiance and the sight of people indulging in egg breakfasts, we decided to visit CACHO for a late afternoon meal.
Arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted by a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The staff was friendly and accommodating, swiftly attending to our seating needs. Given our recent culinary adventures in Barcelona, we opted for a lighter meal and chose to pair our experience with Cerverza and Cerveza with lemonade. The combination of beer with lemonade was a delightful discovery, offering a refreshing and unique flavor.
To start, we ordered a serving of potatoes, and they were a treat for the taste buds. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, seasoned with just the right amount of salt and herbs. They made for a delicious and satisfying appetizer.
Moving on to the main course, we opted for the skirt steak, and it proved to be a fantastic choice. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with a wonderful charred exterior. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Accompanied by sautéed vegetables, which were cooked to retain their natural freshness and crunch, and served alongside mashed potatoes, the dish was a delightful combination of textures and flavors.
One thing that stood out during our visit was the fact that most of the patrons at CACHO were locals. This gave us confidence that we were in for an authentic culinary experience, and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food, combined with the lively atmosphere, created a memorable dining experience.
It is worth noting that CACHO opens at 1 pm from Monday to Friday and at noon on Saturdays and Sundays. This schedule seems to cater well to the locals' preferences, allowing them to enjoy the delicious offerings at CACHO...
Read moreIs a real shame that the quality of the food has decreased significantly. I used to live in the neighbrhood, and the food, and specially the brunch used to be really good (prices were always steep) but the quality would make you forgo that. Now it just feels overpriced for what you get, and they seem to be cutting way to many corners on the quality side. What used to be a full brunch is now a medeum sized toast with dry chicken for 14 euros. They seem to be reusing oil as food had an overall oily taste. (even the bread in the other sandwich we ordered was fried and extremely greasy to the thouch.) The carrots in the hummus instead of baked as they did them before were soggy and fried with a weird old oil taste. We couldnt finish them. Didnt feel healthy, and the overall experience really felt like a rippof due to the overall bad quality and smaller portions. (hummus for example, was thinly spread in a plate. Easily half of the portion they used to serve) I´m writing this review with the hopes they get to improve, and get the place back on track, as they have a great location and the...
Read moreTOTAL SCAM, Estafa!!! basically all things have a price, apart from the most expensive meat. I've asked why my bill was so high, as of course chicken is 5.50 (p/portion) , fish is 7.90, and the guy was like, "well you choose the premium meat. which is 9.90" (which is NOT written anywhere), I told them that was outrages and they give me one free slice of bread and a free coffee to shush me. Talked to another waiter after, and he told me is always like this and was not 'just a mistake'. The food was ok, but my mood definitely NOT. but hey, NOT a good way to do business!!! NEXT TIME I WILL CALL THE POLICE as is totally ourlaw not to expose price of all the food you...
