I guess this is what Catalonian folks are complaining about, brunch places without soul that sell gas station food to tourists. It has the classic stock pictures and standard style for tourist trap chain shops, probably there are another 10 like this with just a different name but same owner. It took 45 minutes to get some deep fried potatoes (likely frozen), a sugary white bread bun that felt like paper, and eggs with overcooked yolk and runny white. There was something else in there but unrecognisable. The side was wet salad with watery olive oil. The "casero" juices are made from concentrate, likely not casero at all. Avoid if you appreciate good food.
Edit: Sadly I didn't take pictures that day, but I can easily recognise the place from the pictures of other users, both in terms of food and the location itself.
Not sure what you mean by competition, I guess you are implying I am the owner of another restaurant? I wish. Also kinda offensive what you are implying.
I checked most of the reviews, haven't seen one Catalan name, even one Spanish sounding name and surname was visiting from somewhere else.
We asked if the juice was freshly squeezed and the waitress said that it comes from concentrate, both the maracuja and the ginger one, the alternative was from a bottled one, don't remember the brand.
The lack of taste was also mentioned in other reviews, so I think I was in the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I visited Cuadro with high expectations but left disappointed.
I ordered Egg Benedict. The food felt overly sweet and heavy. The bread tasted too sugary/sweet, the bacon had an added sweet syrup, and on the side were deep-fried balls — not something I’d associate with fresh, balanced ingredients. The egg I was served was poorly cooked, with the yolk overdone and the white still runny.
What bothered me most was seeing “homemade juice” (one was ginger, one was maracuyá) on the menu, only to be told by the waitress that it was from concentrate.
That felt misleading.
We waited ages to have a simple meal served when the cafe was nearly empty.
But what truly sealed the experience for me was the restaurant’s response to my review. Instead of acknowledging that a guest may simply not enjoy the food, or that there migh be room for an improvement, and treating customer feedback with respect, Cuadro responded that I must have been in a different restaurant — or worse, that I left the review out of spite.
I found that reaction very unprofessional and dismissive.
Everyone’s taste is different, and I respect that some may enjoy what’s on offer. But for me, it was a miss — both in terms of food and how customer...
Read moreBeautiful design and decor, fresh cut flowers, amazing wine glasses and wine selection. The staff was nice and attentive and spoke English. ✨ The food on the other hand was a disappointment :( It lacked flavor, character and the selection of food for the evening menu was pretty narrow. Don’t get me wrong, I love simple menu’s, but it was kinda hard to find something that shouts my name. The croquettes were dry (mainly the pulled pork one) and it just did not really had a flavour. 🧂 The focaccia was nice, but it came with a mountain of cherry tomatoes (which I don’t like, my bad though) had some burrata and pesto, but again, it was nice but lacked that umpf flavor. It was something you whip up at home. 🥖 The abourgine looked amazing, but then again: no flavor, no sauce. 🍆 I think this could be a pretty good place, but I would rethink the...
