DgUSt — Restaurant in Barcelona

I went to this restaurant with my co-workers, and we absolutely loved it. We had a reservation, which I strongly recommend because the place gets completely full.

The food is amazing. The selection is delicious, and everything we ordered at our table was really well prepared and full of flavor. You can tell the ingredients have a good quality. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

A couple of small things to keep in mind: since the restaurant is always packed, we did have to wait a bit for the food to arrive. Also, the menu of the day doesn’t include a vegetarian/ Vegan options. Though the regular menu does offer some choices.

DgUSt has the best tapas we had while in Barcelona! They were so good we went back multiple times, and regretted not eating there when we went somewhere else. Highlights were the terrezno, mushrooms, and garlic prawns. We also loved their house vermouth on tap, and the vermouth session is an incredible deal: two vermouths with plates of patatas bravas, olives with sardines, pork pieces, pickled mussels, croquettes, and calamari for only 18 euro!! Teníamos mucha fe en ese sitio, pues somos vecinos del barrio y no hay mucha oferta de calidad por la zona. Lamentablemente ayer fuimos a cenar allí y fue un desastre, camareros muy perdidos y algunos sin casi mirarte a los ojos. Pedimos una hamburguesa, un sándwich club, una entraña y unas lágrimas de pollo. Después de casi una hora vinieron diciendo que no quedaba pollo y que no podrían servirnos el sándwich club, cosa que no entendimos muy bien porque acabábamos de comer las lágrimas de pollo… Al rato vienen y dicen que tampoco hay entraña… Así que les pedimos que nos dijesen que había, porque ya llevábamos una hora y media sentados y estábamos un poco hartos. Un camarero dice que va a preguntar a la cocina y que nos diría que queda, pues nunca volvió. Al rato viene otra chica preguntándonos si ya habíamos recibido la comida que faltaba y le decimos que ya ni sabíamos que comida íbamos a comer. Se va a preguntar y vuelve con las ultimas opciones, obviamente las aceptamos porque ya era el tercer intento. La hamburguesas tardaron más de una hora, no estaban mal, pero ya nos las comimos sin ganas. Por supuesto no pedimos postre porque queríamos salir de allí ya. No vinieron ni a ofrecernos un chupito o algo por disculparse, no sé, lo mínimo que yo haría si fuera mi restaurante. Al final todos los restaurantes pueden tener problemas pero como lo resuelven es lo que importa, todo fue un auténtico caos. Invité a unos amigos a cenar allí diciéndoles que habían abierto un sitio nuevo con buena pinta, pero todo se quedó en eso, buena pinta y nada más. Espero que puedan mejorar bastante para darles una segunda oportunidad en el futuro, empezando por el servicio que debería tratar de minimizar los problemas con un poco más de empatía y...
