The food and drinks are decent and the food is amazing, but sadly the service on the roof top was awful. My friends and I arrived at around 3pm on Saturday afternoon and were seated at the front part of the roof terrace, where the bar was closed at the time. That in and of itself was not the problem, except that we had to carry our drinks back from the other bar to the table with no offer of a tray. At around 5.15pm we heard to the waiters telling the table behind us that they had to move in 30 minutes because the area had been reserved for an event, but, as he didn't come and tell us the same, we assumed we were safe. Then, 25 minutes later and he came and told us that we too would have to move in 15 minutes and offered us a table which was a third of the size and comfort of the one we were seated at and which was the only remaining table on that area of the terrace. If there was to be an event, and people had to move for the event, there should have been signs on the table sadvising of this many hours before and we should have been made aware, as a minimum, at the same time as the tables around us. This was a terrible customer service experience and an awful way of saying thank you to a table who at that point has already spent more than 200€. To make matters worst, every single member of the waiting staff were totally miserable, didn't give even as much as a simple courtesy smile. I will not...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had — overpriced, tasteless, and totally disappointing.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place deserves one.
I went with my family to celebrate a special occasion, expecting a nice rooftop experience at The Hoxton. What we got instead was a complete nightmare. The food was shockingly bad, completely tasteless, served with zero care or culinary thought, and to make things worse, it came in stained plastic plates and cups. For what we paid, which was stupidly expensive, this was beyond unacceptable.
The service was equally disappointing. The staff were disinterested, more focused on their “cool” attitude than actually attending to guests. I called in advance to ask about reservations and was told they don’t take them — yet when we arrived, the hostess informed us that most of the tables were reserved. After waiting awkwardly, she finally gave us a spot that had just been freed. From there, things only got worse.
What shocked me most was how bad everything was — and how little anyone seemed to care. It’s clear that the focus is on the image, not the food, the service, or the customer experience. It felt more like a scene for selfies and vibes than an actual restaurant.
Absolutely would not recommend. Save your time, your money, and...
Read moreWe ware at the Hoxton rooftop two days ago. The view was amazing but the service was not what we expected. We wanted to have a table and there were some tables free. But we needed to sit at the pool area. That is fine of course but we needed to order at the bar. If this would go fast also not a problem but it did not go fast. It took really long and it was not efficient at all. I ordered drinks and food and needed to wait at the bar for more than 30 minutes for it it while my friends were waiting and already sitting at the bed/table. Then I got the drinks and the food but I forgot one thing and I needed to wait again for more than 15 minutes. Because of that the food was already cold when I got back at the table. This is not a good experience as you can imagine. When you are at a concert okay but not in a fancy bar where you pay 10 euros for a drink. There you expect service. It was not like there were 20 people waiting. It was just organised very inefficient.
There were 10 people working and it was so inefficient. Such bad service. I can’t believe how you can be a Hoxten and organise your business in this way. To the manager of the hotel, I am sure you could have made 40% more revenue if you had people serving tables and offering proper service. Something you expect of such a...
