The Dow Jones Bar in Barcelona offers a refreshingly innovative concept in the world of nightlife, where the prices of drinks fluctuate based on real-time demand, much like the stock market. This unique feature not only adds an exciting twist to the traditional bar experience but also provides an opportunity for patrons to engage in a playful game of timing and strategy to snag their favorite beverages at lower prices. In moments of low demand, when the bar sees fewer orders, prices "crash," allowing customers to enjoy premium drinks at a fraction of the cost. This dynamic pricing system encourages guests to keep an eye on the market board, waiting for the perfect moment to place their orders, adding an element of anticipation and fun to the evening. Adding to the bar's distinctive charm is the creative naming of its drinks, with some featuring particularly quirky and memorable monikers that reflect the playful spirit of the establishment. These whimsically named cocktails not only serve as conversation starters but also enrich the overall experience, making each order feel like a personal adventure. The bar stands out as a must-visit destination for those looking to enjoy a night out with a twist. The combination of its stock market-inspired pricing mechanism and the imaginative drink names creates an engaging atmosphere that is both entertaining and rewarding, especially for those who master the art of timing their orders to take advantage of the...
Read moretried to go to this bar twice as our friend had been and we thought it sounded fun! sadly no the bouncer was incredibly rude and off putting. The first time he said that it was going to close soon (it wasnât for another 50 minutes) but we left and then tried again a few days later. The bouncer said the bar was âtoo fullâ despite they being numerous empty tables that just needed the glasses cleared. There was also just me and one other friend trying to get in not a huge group. This was our last night in Barcelona and we had been looking forward to it so we decided to wait a bit to see if we could get in and were told it be an hour as 20 people had to leave to let the two of us in! Then we were deciding on whether to go find somewhere else or just go back to the hostel and he told us to go further down the street as there was âpolice on the corner and theyâd been in trouble for that beforeâ?? I said to him it wasnât my problem and that there were no police as there genuinely was no car or anything related in sight and he told me to stop being troublesome and go further down the street. Genuinely just a bizarre and frustrating experience, I wouldnât bother trying to go unless you plan to get there before 8pm and expect the âbouncerâ (in joggers and a t-shirt) to be flat out rude in the way he...
Read moreThis place is a gimmicky pub. They never change their drink prices. I have been here many times and prices are always the practically the same. The service is really aggressive and generally rude in Spanish, Catalan or English. They really could do significantly better in this category. (Case in point on their aggressive attitude can be in owners below comments).
Atmosphere is average. And as the âthemeâ goes... it completely fails to deliver. It would be better just to turn this into a slightly more classy pub with better food.
In the food category, this place is a clear one star. Donât even contemplate ordering anything here. This is a drink place.
If you are looking for fun and a good time, this is not your place. If you want to have a beer, (not eat) and watch premier league game then this is a solid option. Occasionally, they will play American/British/Australian sporting events.
This is not a real local destination. It is 90% tourists with a lack of neighborhood feel. There are much better locations nearby where one can experience something more authentic. If you do want to meet backpackers on their euro tour, this is a...
