El Matador Restaurante — Restaurant in Barcelona

Disappointing experience! Plates are very overpriced, I would have been even more frustrated by the experience if I hadn’t had the Fork discount. Everything took forever: long wait for them to take our order and 30+ minutes for the first plate to arrive. My companion’s main plate arrived first, the appetizer arrived 10 minutes after that, and my plate arrived last (an hour after initially ordering) so my companion already finished her food by then. The beef cheek was overly fatty and lacked flavor. The tortilla tasted like it was made with old oil & it was missing salt. The risotto’s rice was not fully cooked and it was very oily. We to La Frugal for dinner, with high expectations (after reading the reviews here). While the food was okay, it was nothing extraordinary, and I would not repeat any dish I tried (maybe just the crispy broccoli, although the kimchi sauce was really too salty). The beet hummus was fine, but tasted like the one I buy from the store. The ribs- they were also okay, but too much gravy on top- I would have appreciated that more on the side instead (personal preference). This restaurant really did me thinking that it's really possible to fake Google reviews because I really think that it's impossible that this restaurant has such good reviews. We were sitting next to the kitchen and everything, every plate was just put in the microwave and heated up like that. And the taste of everything was really far from fresh. I think that we can have fresher food in a McDonald's.

The picture is the view that I had and as you can see the microwave is almost the only thing in the kitchen!
