Happy to find this place in Gracia! Was very excited to try as I love good Mexican & Latino flavours! I ordered three dishes, the ceviche, the jackfruit burrito & the tacos Al pastor. Ceviche was fine, crunchy corn kernels, warm potatoes, cucumber, mushrooms in an acidic spicy “sauce”. A decent effort compared to the original dish. The burrito was the best, although served with a conventional tortilla has a tasteful filling with proper seasoning and texture. The tacos Al pastor were a disappointment for my personal taste and experience with this specific dish. Weak flavours and oily but I have to say that the tortilla was excellent, proper handmade corn tortillas nixtamal. Good atmosphere, kind & fast service, excellent music playlist (psychedelic classic rock)!!! I will come back for a deserved second trial to try other dishes.

If you love food, go here. This is the real deal. Authentic Mexican flavors in everything I tried. I honestly didn’t want to leave. I tried the quesabirria tacos, tofish tacos, guacamole and chips, and tres leches for dessert. The guacamole was loaded with flavor. A very good start. The quesabirria tacos were wonderful, with crispy tortillas, a flavorful and substantial filling, and the birria was decadent. The tofish tacos looked incredibly similar to a certain style of fish taco and the flavors were on point. The dessert was rich and very well balanced, not excessively sweet but very enjoyable. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, and that’s a lot. It was the food highlight of my visit to Barcelona.

The reviews mostly say that the nachos are incredible, and they're not lying! This is not your salty doritos + stale guacamole variant, everything is super fresh, delicious and filling. We had the nachos, sweet potato flautas, mango Margherita, tortilla soup and "beef" tacos. Everything was excellent, but the soup and nachos are a cut above the rest. On our second visit, we tried the tortilla with guacamole, al pastor tacos, chocolate fondant dessert, and cocktails (pornstar martini and pina colada) which were all excellent. Service is quick and polite, overall restaurant ambiance and decor is also pleasing. A nice bonus is that they have two restrooms, one of which is very spacious.

Gallo Santo – Vegan Tex-Mex That Hits Every Note

Gallo Santo on Torrent de l’Olla has been my absolute favorite vegan restaurant in Barcelona since they opened. I didn’t know vegan Tex-Mex could taste this good – flavorful, creative, and consistently delicious. Pretty much everything on the menu is a win.

The tortilla soup is my go-to. I still don’t know how they make something that rich and satisfying without any animal products, but it’s amazing – deeply flavorful and comforting.

One thing I really appreciate is that they respect the spice. In Catalonia, it’s common for places to tone it down for local tastes, but not here. If a dish is meant to have heat, they serve it with heat – and I love that.

Their cocktails are just as impressive. The Holy Cock is my favorite – gin-based and made with aquafaba instead of egg whites. Even the cocktails are fully vegan, which is a nice, thoughtful touch.

Gallo Santo nails it: bold flavors, great drinks, and a relaxed, friendly vibe. Whether you’re vegan or just into seriously good food, this spot is...

Aquí, simplemente, no supieron hacerlo bien.
