El Salón — Restaurant in Barcelona

If you imagine How many there are restaurants, tapas bars, tavernas and cafes from cuisines all over the world in Barcelona, then you understand the astonishment to feel pure luck discovering El Salon restaurant.

The great example of cute little Italian island with own tune. You get taste of the food, already amazed and only then realise the surroundings are nice aa well: pictures and paintings on the walls, cute little tables oh so close to each other (yes, you get the vibe of southern closiness), nice clean WC facilities, the table settings.

Carpaccio on the starter - great example of decent portion, lovely saltiness on lips, sprinkles of oil and freshness of vegetables. Nice touch add nuts!

Tuna cubes layed on plate like Barcelona letters in the city centre:) Soft texture of fish combined with light crunchiness of vegetable mix. Very very good.

The fondant- Im must be totally frank - you must search for a perfection like this in whole Estonia and still not find! The right temperature, the hot flow, the texture and sweetness. A must to order. Compliments to the Chef and its team!

And a cherry on the top adds swift, pleasant and delicate serrvice, who keeps an eye on each guest; poured drinks, carefully suggesting, explaining and entertaining.

Hidden gem! People need to patron this wonderful little romantic restaurant. The atmosphere was quaint & comfortable. The food leans towards Catalonian/French/Mediterranean. Party of Two couples. We started off the evening with a Negroni and an Old Fashioned. Best we’ve had in the last 4 days. Then a wonderful mixed green salad on a bed of tomatoes with a basil vinaigrette shows up and it’s spectacular. The ladies ordered the risotto. One of the guys had the chicken cannelloni, and the other had the Mediterranean Seabass. All dishes were spot on. The wine pairings were limited but the waiter Mark, who was amazing, helped us through the options and we had a wonderful Martin Codax Alberino with the chicken and fish, while the ladies had a bottle of 2018 Gramona Imperial sparkling with their risotto and we could not have been happier. Best meal we’ve had our entire visit of Barcelona. Please visit this wonderful restaurant. They do have a full bar and we had 4 cocktails, and two bottles of wine, including dessert and the total...

We had a wonderful dinner at El Saon. Arrived early and there were plenty of tables available. The staff was very friendly, the bottle of wine we wanted was not available but they recommended an excellent alternative - once it opened up it was one of the best we've had on our trip. The salad and zucchini carpaccio was outstanding, very fresh and a great way to start the meal. The potatoes with mushroom sauce were delicious and a great comfort food - a nice transition into our main course. I wish there was a bit of briteness (maybe a touch of acid or spice) but that feels like nit picking. The duck confit was spectacular - balanced and delicious, we were so eager to dig in we forgot to get a photo. We really appreciated the way they courses the meal, we shared everything and each plate was well spaced. Another fantastic meal in in Barcelona for a very reasonable price. We highly recommend El Salon, it will certainly be on our list...
