The Food Now, let’s talk about the food. This is where things get truly unbelievable. Every dish is crafted with precision and care, making it clear that the ingredients are fresh, high quality, and sourced with intention. Each bite delivers incredible flavor, and you can taste the love and skill that go into every plate.
We started with a Caprese salad, a simple yet divine dish. The tomatoes were ripe and bursting with sweetness, paired perfectly with creamy mozzarella and finished with a drizzle of rich balsamic vinegar. It was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to begin the meal.
Next, we tried the Pasta alla Carbonara. A dish that’s deceptively simple, but requires true expertise to get it right. The sauce was smooth and velvety, with just the right balance of pecorino cheese and eggs. The pancetta was crispy, adding a smoky crunch that balanced the richness of the sauce. It was decadent but not heavy, just perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious.
The Tagliatelle with Truffle and Porcini Mushrooms was another standout. The fresh tagliatelle was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was rich with earthy truffle flavor that didn’t overpower the dish. The porcini mushrooms added a savory depth that brought everything together in a truly exquisite way. It was one of those dishes you wish could go on forever.
For the main course, I had the Osso Buco—slow-cooked veal shanks that were tender and succulent, served in a rich, tomato-based sauce with a sprinkle of gremolata. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone effortlessly, and the sauce was rich and flavorful without being too heavy. It came with a side of creamy polenta, which added a comforting, smooth texture that complemented the osso buco perfectly.
Finally, the Tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal. Light and airy, with just the right amount of espresso and cocoa, it wasn’t overly sweet like some versions can be. The mascarpone was silky and rich, and the balance of flavors made it the ideal finish to a stellar meal.
Wine Pairing The wine list is an impressive selection of Italian wines, showcasing a variety of reds and whites from some of the country’s best-known regions. We had a medium-bodied Chianti Classico to pair with the pasta and osso buco, and it was an excellent choice—its deep fruit flavors complemented the richness of the dishes perfectly. The wine list is curated with care, ensuring that each wine enhances the flavors...
Read moreWell, I have to give this place a "5"! We have been in Barcelona 4 days and are heading home to the US tomorrow. We are staying in the area and we have had many amazing meals at small restaurants in the charming side streets near here. We have been striving to eat local Spanish and Catalan food and have had some amazing meals, truly! Before we headed home we just wanted some Italian and came across the "Sports Bar Italian Food" and we are glad we did! We had amazing service from "Diego" and of the servers and another couple servers, I am sorry I did not get all their names. We had a beef carpaccio started that came with bread, olives and cheese, truthfully that could have been enough for the two of us, it was delicious! We ordered the pasta carbonara and my wife got the lobster and seafood pasta "special" for the day, holy cow! The food was fantastic, well presented and delicious! We had wine, starter, 2 amazing meals for $75 euros. Great food, amazing service and a great value. Too bad we did not come here sooner in our visit or else we would have come back again. The pizza's served at the tables next to us looked amazing too. Come in and ask for Diego, you will not be disappointed! Thank you to the Chef, great place off the...
Read moreI have been in Barcelona for a few days and walked past this place. Liked the menu and pizza oven so I took a photo to remind me of the name. I went there today for lunch. I have owned Italian restaurants in Melbourne Australia so am very critical of Italian food but I wanted Italian after 6 weeks of Spanish food. Firstly front windows were very clean which is a huge positive for me. For starters I had the steamed mussels. Very good serving with plenty of pepper which is needed to compliment the saltiness of the mussels. They weren't overcooked so there was plenty of flesh and were very moist. Loved it. For mains I had parpadelle with straciatella cream, mushroom tartufo and sausage meat. My oh my oh my. Wow wow and more wow. I purposely ate it slowly so I could savour the taste for longer. Thanks for the bread to scoop up the sauce at the end. This was a 10 out of 10 dish. Best meal outside of Italy that ive had in a long time and better than most restaurants in Italy No dessert but I had an espresso. Very hard to get bad coffee in Spain. This was probably in the top 5 coffee that I've had in Spain and I've had a lot of coffee . Tomorrow being my last day in Barcelona....will go back and try the pizza will keep you posted what an...
