Frankfurt's Casa Vallès — Restaurant in Barcelona

Looking for a true Barcelona experience ❤️💛 ❓ Search no more: Frankfurt's Casa Vallès is your spot. This is NOT a fancy place. They do NOT sell Catalan food. They barely speak Catalan. So why is it so typical? 🤔 Just walk in and you'll understand. There, you'll find people alone, couples, friends, families of all classes and all styles coming from all over the neighborhood and beyond. And why do all these people gather there? Because the place has been open forever and my parent's generation already used to go there after Uni (their first Barcelona branch opened in the '60 in front of the University). So for all these people, their kids and their grandsons, Casa Vallès' sandwiches are "comfort food". 🥰 They offer a lot of different types of sausages 🌭 and a few other items. The first thing I tried there was a spicy burger 🍔 and I loved it so much 😍 that I cannot force myself to order anything else. The quality hasn't changed since the first time I tried it, 20 years ago. 👏 The quantities either. 👍 The price has, of course, but that's still affordable (€4 to €5 per sandwich). Fries 🍟 were not great at the time and... they aren't yet. 😅 So go there for the sandwiches 🥪 and for the vibes, not for the fries. No se puede decir mucho de casa valles que no se sepa ya... pero si te has caído de un guindo, estos son los mejores bocadillos de Frankfurt, o en general, salchichas y hamburguesas estilo alemán. La mayoría tienen un delicuoso toque ahumado que es los que distingue a este sitio de cualquier otro de los miles que hay, juntamente con las salsas de fabricación propia mostaza picante y tomate (ojo no ketchup, que también tienen claro) que se salen de ricas. El staff va por faena porque normalmente está lleno desde que empieza a ser hora de llenar el buche, así que son camareros rápidos, old school de los de tomo nota sirvo y cobro mientras sueltan una gracia, aunque a veces parecen secos por el volumen que manejan, pero que en realidad son todos muy majetes. Los aseos deberían tener mejor higiene, o la gente ser más responsable, dada la afluencia, es normal. Y no le encuentro ningún otro defecto al sitio que voy cada vez que puedo, lo hacía con mi abuelo, con mi padre, con mis colegas, y ahora con mi hijo. Ninguna generación se resiste al sabor y servicio de siempre de casa valles. Y que dure🤞

Recomendar es muy difícil porque todos los bocadillos son geniales, diferentes al resto, pero el Frankfurt hay que probarlo, al igual que su peculiar hamburguesa, en su versión simple o picante o incluso la deliciosa moruna. Pero sino habéis probado el lomo queso o bacon queso (ojo, a estos hay que echarle en poca cantidad la salsa Viandox (parecida a la perryns)) y dejaos llevar... En todo caso pidáis lo que pidáis, raro es que os salga el tiro por la culata... Hasta el bikini (mixto fuera de Catalunya) sabe diferente. Casa valles nanos, volveréis...

We are so happy to have discovered this place in Gràcia and it became one of the places we keep going back to several times during the week.

The wine prices are very reasonable (€1,5 for glass) and the food is great!

The guys who work there are extremely friendly and do their best, they know our order by heart now and everytime we come back they keep welcoming us with a smile.
