I am a local guide. Let me tell you this place doesn't deserve 5 stars like it has. It is absolutely not a perfect place. Some commenter said that it was the best Indian from Spain and perhaps Europe as well. I'd argue against that, it will not even fit in a top 10.
Now, is it a good place for the price? Well, yes, it is, the servings are rather big and they fill you very quickly, the ingredients are decent, the treatment is very nice.
Now onto the caveats. It's a small place that doesn't feel very new, distinguished and in a rather hidden place. I am no stranger to restaurants in streets with poor indication, but I feel uncomfortable when it happens, I didn't feel unsafe as I came with friends and the treatment was warm, but I don't think I would have come alone.
Right, for the price it's nice, I don't want any buyer to get it wrong, but the food will not make you cry. This is one objective critique in the sea of overwhelmingly positive ones...
Read moreI recently visited Haldi Indian Restaurant with my family, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Despite specifically instructing the staff to make a non-spicy dish for my daughter, they served us a spicy sabji, which she couldn't eat at all. To make matters worse, we found small stones in the sabji while chewing—this is completely unacceptable.
The service was equally poor. They didn't provide proper plates, and after we finished our starters, they didn't bother to change the plates. We had to use the same dirty plates for the rest of our meal. The overall quality of the food was low, and I was charged around 26 Euros for this subpar experience.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The combination of low-quality food, poor service, and disregard for customer instructions made this a...
Read moreHaldi is a small basic restaurant serving Indian food. The restaurant is owned by Viren who is very nice to talk to and was very respectful. We had ordered Pani Puri, Onion Bhaji, Veg Biryani and Chana Bhatura. We had specially requested all items to be mild. Pani Puri and Chana Bhatura were really good. Both of them were medium spicy but we could handle the spice. Onion Bhaji came as onion rings with chickpea flour batter, which we had to replace with Onion Pakora. However, the Veg biryani was super spicy (really hot). We complained about it to the owner who agreed to replace it with mild one but the replacement was spicy as well. Anyways, we left that and paid the bill. One suggestion to the owner is to tell customers about spice level of pre-cooked items such as biryani so nobody is...
