Here is the short version of the review:
Extremely rude waiter Long waiting times Minuscule portions or food (despite asking the waiter if we ordered enough) We sat at 21:50 when reserved for 21:30. they refused to let us order extra food at 22:40 because the kitchen would close at 23.
What a disappointing experience! We booked a table for 21:30, we arrived on time but where sat at the table with over 20 minutes of delay. We asked the waiter for recommendation on the food amount. Was it enough to have pork belly and secreto iberico (each one should be for two people) and a portion of fried chicken to share among 4 hungry guests? The waiter said it would be enough. We ordered and immediately changed our mind, and asked the waiter if he could kindly switch the secreto for some ribs, he said it probably wouldn’t be possible (litterally 30 seconds since we first ordered) but he would try to make an exception for us.
We started eating and soon realised that the portions were very small. At 22:30 we ask for the menu again, we immediately decide on some extra sides and try to catch the attention of the waiters for over 10 minutes, we finally managed to catch him, he said that he was sorry but the kitchen was gonna close soon so we couldn’t order. At that point I got upset, so I told him that since we were sat down with over 20 minutes delay and the kitchen was not closed yet I expected them to make an exception and let us order some fried chicken, also considering he gave us a wrong recommendation on the food amount. He became angry and told me I was hysterical, that he was doing such a great job because he gave us a free refill of kimchi (I am very happy to pay for my food in full and nobody asked him a discount) and it was not his fault that they made us sit with 20 minutes late, but the fault of the restaurant, so I should not be upset if now the kitchen is closed, because accidents happens.
I disagree, in all decent restaurants where customers are sat shortly before the kitchen is closing, a good waiter always goes, informs them that there is a last round of ordered because the kitchen is about to close.
Anyway we left with an almost empty stomach, and a bad mood considering how badly we have been treated.
Service is just as important as food, if portions are minuscule (litterally 4 tiny ribs 1 champignon mushroom for a portion of two people and two slices of courgette) and waiters are impolite, and the restaurant is not well managed, one star is...
Read moreWARNING! The guy who runs this place is the reason for this 1 star review. I was with my wife (shes Korean, I am Nepalese and we live in Australia) who asked for 2 seats for no reservation. He told us wait 30 minutes. We understood and said we'll wait. Another couple came after us (10 mins later) who we overheard speak in Korean and say they don't have a reservation. They were an older couple, a Spanish man and a Korean woman. To our surprise, they were seated first. While I was confused by why he did this, I walked up to the old man and politely asked him why he sat those people first. He looked at me and said "no english". Okay so you spoke English before but now suddenly you don't? I didn't want my wife to ask him in Korean because there would be some sort of confrontation that would make her feel uncomfortable. At this point I was livid, but I wanted to see if he would apologize - but nope, no apologies, not even a word. I'm sure he felt guilty, because he didnt look at me or my wife in the eye anymore after that initial discussion. I don't know what to call it...racism towards me? Ageism towards me and my partner? Or some form of prejudice? Whatever the case, it will not deter me from writing this review because how awful we felt after. The first ever Korean restaurant to make me...
Read moreMy wife, two year old toddler, and I dropped in during our trip in Barcelona. My wife is Korean, so we have high standards for Korean food, but the entire experience did not disappoint.
The owners and staff were super friendly right from the moment we arrived. They gave us a bigger table because we had a stroller, which also made it easy for us to entertain our son. We ordered a variety of dishes and the taste exceeded all our expectations. The staff dropped by often checking on us and the owners strike a conversation with our son as he became a bit restless.
The atmosphere is an also great. We could see ourselves come here for a date or nice dinner out but it also worked with a toddler as there was lively chatter across the restaurant so nobody noticed when he got a bit loud.
Loved the food, loved the atmosphere, and specially loved the service and friendliness of the...
