Hidden Gem!
Amazing Authentic Indian/Pakistani Restaurant.
We found this place by chance while searching Halal places on Google and found that it was literally around the corner from our hotel.
When we arrived around 7.45pm on Tuesday evening, the restaurant was quiet. There was only one other person there. This immediately made us wonder if the place would be any good. Oh well, we're here now.p
We were greeted by a friendly smiling waiter who showed us to our table. (Sorry i didnt take his name) We had a quick look at the menu and we asked the waiter to recommend some dishes for us to try. He recommended the Achari Chicken and Mutton Karahi and chicken biryani. We didn't try any of the starters as we had been eating kebabs etc pretty much every day during our stay in Barcelona. We just wanted to get straight into the mains.
There was quite a wait for the food, even though the restaurant was so quiet, however we took this as a good sign that the food was being freshly prepared and we were not disappointed!! The food was fresh, flavourful and very well presented. Authentic Indian/Pakistani flavours. Haveli definitely did not disappoint.
By the way, the waiter was very friendly, courteous and polite and really made us feel welcome.
This hidden gem of a restaurant is highly recommended if you are in Barcelona and looking for some good wholesome Indian/Pakistani halal food. We really enjoyed our meal at Haveli and would not hesitate in returning when we are again in Barcelona.
Well done...

We ordered 3 dishes, a starter (a Samosa), chicken tandoori and a lentils curry. (The latter accompanied with garlic naan).
The Samosa's were alright. On par with the average. Size was good, crustiness was okay and flavour nothing special.
The lentils and the tandoori were where the let down came.
The tandoori was a small portion and for the price (take a look and tell me what you would pay for 6 cubes...) It was a rip off. Additionally it was mostly flavourless and it was served cold.
The lentils, on the other hand, were better. The flavour was good, although it looked like a different dish came from the one ordered. The lentils were supposed to be yellow accompanied by a garlic-gingery curry. However, the lentils weren't yellow nor could I sense any ginger. Additionally it had CHILLY BEANS. In an Indian restaurant?!? Weird...
*Note: We booked with "The Fork" and although a 30% discount was applied the prices were 3 euros more expensive than the ones listed on the app. Therefore we ended up paying the same we would with no discount and the prices listed on the app.
I suspect that we were given a different menu card (more expensive).
All in all I wouldn't come back, I've been to many restaurants and this one fell short. Without the discount a...
Read moreWe booked a table through The Fork which gave us 50% off. I would give 3.5/5 stars if possible due to their dishonest pricing.
Before entering, we checked the prices on their menu outside the restaurant. After entering and receiving the menu, we noticed that the prices differed by around 2-3 euro. For instance, on the menu outside the restaurant, a mutton Biryani costed 11.95 while it was priced 14.95 inside. When I asked about this, I was told they had last years menu outside and that all restaurants do this. I told the waiter they have to use the updated menu outside cause I mean.. It's false advertisement.
Nevertheless, we ordered the Mutton Biryani, Chicken Tandoori Massala and a raita. The food was reaaally tasty. They didn't give alot of mutton in the Biryani and the mutton was also a bit dry. But overall, the food gets 4/5 stars. With The Fork discount, it's good value for the money, even if their prices are about 2-3 euro higher than they...
