Hoppiness — Restaurant in Barcelona

An expensive and not a very pleasant place. The outdoor space is enclosed on three sides and was full of people smoking. I moved my chair outside the pagoda to be in a smoke free area and was told off disrepectfully by the barman. By health and safety laws it is prohibited to smoke in enclosed areas, the undercover outside area is completely enclosed apart from one side, and inside it stunk of exhaled cigarette smoke. There was no way we could enjoy a drink there. The barman was totally unsympathetic to us having a drink in a safe and clean environment. The prices are expensive and a beer labelled "sour" gave the person I was with acidic heart burn from the sample he tried. My friend was in so much discomfort from the drink that we had to leave. The sample of the "sour" beer could have been off and tasted like vinegar. We explained the situation to the barman and he was totally unsympathetic and lacked any kind of understanding or empathy. I won't be going back there, and while I love the craft of beer making, I would not recommend this place to anyone. They really need to change their customer...

6 stars. It’s my favorite burger in Barcelona, because they make the beef the best part. It’s seasoned subtly but very well, and grilled perfectly on a flattop.

The toppings and variations are all next level but without being overpowering like you come to expect around bcn. My favorite might be the “Cheeseburger”, pictured, which is both ‘next level’ with 4 cheeses at the same time as it is not too complicated. The others are equally super, and even more creative.

I would definitely recommend. Super great burgers, super great other food, great beer, and amazing people as well.

If you find yourself on the eastern side of Barcelona city, and fancy som amazing food and heavenly tender meat. You have to find Hoppines, a local bar with really good beer, a product of a local collaboration between bars in the community and, I believe, local breweries.
