Bogatell Beach in Barcelona has turned out to be an unexpected gem for me. Initially, I was disappointed when our usual family spot, Mar Bella Beach, became less accessible due to a metro line closure last year. However, this change led me to discover Bogatell Beach, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

The first thing that struck me was the stunning clarity of the water. It reminded me of the pristine waters of the Maldives, a quality not easily found in urban beaches. The sand is clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasure to walk barefoot or lounge around.

Bogatell Beach boasts excellent infrastructure. There are ample toilets and showers available, ensuring comfort and convenience for all visitors. The beach is also equipped with other amenities that enhance the overall experience, making it a hassle-free outing.

The atmosphere at Bogatell Beach is vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for both solo visits and family outings. Now that the metro line has been repaired, I continue to frequent this beach and appreciate the serendipitous discovery that turned my initial frustration into a new favorite spot.

In summary, Bogatell Beach offers clear waters, clean sand, and top-notch facilities, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy the seaside in Barcelona. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a great...

Extremely disappointed with our experience at what is supposed to be a 4-star hotel.

We stayed at Paxton Barcelona for a short business trip, checking in on Sunday and staying two nights. After a very long and exhausting Monday, we returned to our room around 10 PM only to discover that the room had not been cleaned and the bed hadn’t even been made.

When we went down to reception to report it, no solution was offered. The only response was: “Sorry, it was a mistake, but the cleaning staff leave at 5 PM.” That’s it. No offer to change rooms, no one offered to at least make the bed themselves, not even basic initiative or empathy.

Their explanation was that linen is only changed every 3 days – but this wasn’t about changing linen, it was about not cleaning the room at all. We had clearly been overlooked, and they made no effort to make up for it.

This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel claiming 4 stars. At this price point, the bare minimum is that the room is cleaned daily or, if not, that staff provide a real solution, not just apologies.

Would not recommend and definitely...

I don't know when those other pictures were taken, but when I was there (twice), it was not as tranquil as in the pictures. The good is that there are food and drink options on the beach. One set of showers was on, all the others along the beach were switched off. Expect to line up for Washroom facilities. Busy beaches, even at 6:30 am folks were already there, some playing beach volleyball, many joggers, and sun worshipers. Beach umbrella and lounge chairs are.rented out at 20 Euros per item. Bring your own stuff to avoid these prices. At this particular beach there was a huge drop between beach and water. It was a wavy day, with some great waves which may have been the reason for the churned water that made the water disgusting with churned seaweed. Goggles on the water looked like I was swimming in a green minestrone soup. The seaweed was so sticky and I spent hours taking out of ... for the general reader let's say, swim trunks... and took multiple shampoo, brush and conditioner for my girl's hair. Sand is not the sandcastle type, but soft enough...

Playa de Bogatell is a beautiful beach in Barcelona and much less crowded than the city’s more famous public beaches. The sand is clean and golden, and the water is a clear, inviting blue. There’s a beach bar and restaurant offering sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, but be prepared for high prices 30€ for two chairs and 15€ for an umbrella. We tried the patatas bravas, which cost around 8€ for a portion half the size of what you’d get at a restaurant in the city. Beers range from 5€ to 8€. The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere is great for relaxing. The only downside is the pricing, which is on the expensive side for a public beach.

This is a mediocre urban beach. Decent span but not huge, some courts for volleyball and paddle ball. The beach has a steep drop where the wave breaks and a moderate amount of seaweed with moderate water. The chairs and umbrellas are 20 euro per piece (ie 2 chairs and umbrella = 60 euro) the restaurant has prices to match though food is not bad. The showers and restrooms at the boardwalk have long lines and the perpetual swarm of peddlers make you feel like your belongings are always under threat of theft- though nothing was ever touched or taken from ours.
