This is some of the best food we ate in Spain. We went originally for the paella, which unfortunately they don’t serve right now post-COVID due to the limitations on capacity. So we ordered the set menu. I got delicious lentils with seasonal vegetables as the starter, pork cheek in a red wine sauce as my main, and crema Catalonia for dessert. The sangria was also delicious. The restaurant is ran by two sisters who go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and at home. I highly recommend if you’re in the Barcelona Gothic Quarter.

Great little family run restaurant. Be alert to the restricted opening hours. Situated in the Barri Gotic, a short distance, but a world away, from the tacky souvenir shops off Las Ramblas. Ridiculously under-priced set menu, 3 courses from an extensive menu, bread and a glass of wine for just over €11. If the melon and mint soup is available, you must try it, if not, don't panic, everything else was delicious too.

Came highly recommended by guide and wasn't disappointed. A small discreet restaurant tucked into the Gothic area. The food's pretty much home cooked style, decent and priced reasonably. Loved the goat cheese in cramalised apple with spinach...absolutely can. The grilled lamb leg is juicy and full flavoured. Don't need any gravy or mint sauce to go with it!. Definitely worth spending a bit of effort to look for it!

Bad service, small entrees, didn’t get our order right, and cod was undercooked.

The server was nice, but her English was poor, which made ordering difficult. We were quickly seated, but it was a long time before our drink order was taken. We weren’t provided with a drink menu. When I ordered wine, she said “house wine” and then there was difficultly communicating that we hadn’t received a wine menu.

Our food arrived before our drinks, which were ordered at the same time. She sat us and then ignored us for a long time. After finally ordering, our food came out quickly and we had to remind the server we requested water and wine. It took a long time to get our drinks after reminding her. I burned my mouth on my food and had nothing to drink for several minutes after.

We ordered bread with our dinner, but it didn’t arrive until long after we had finished eating and were waiting on the bill.

We ate two starters and each ordered a fish entree, but we were both left hungry as the portions were small.

The Cod I ordered was slightly undercooked (slightly raw) and the wrong dish, probably because our server didn’t understand English, although she seemed to speak it okay. I think she pretends to understand when she doesn’t. For example, she said she their food is “natural” several times, but it’s not organic. Perhaps she meant authentic?

I pointed to what I wanted on the menu and said the name, cod with garlic soufflé. She brought cod with pine nuts and raisins. I carry an EpiPen because I have food allergies. I’m lucky there wasn’t anything in it I’m allergic to, because I started eating it before realizing it wasn’t the cod dish I ordered.

The house wine, a red wine, was of low quality compared to other restaurants we visited. It tasted like it the bottle had been left open for days.

It took time to request the bill. Once we paid by credit card, we had to wait for a pen to sign.

I wanted to like this restaurant because It’s family run, primarily by women from what I saw. The server was very nice. Unfortunately, this was disappointing and the only bad dining experience we had in Barcelona after a week of eating out for every meal.

There are two reasons I’m giving it two stars and not one. First, the starters were delicious! We had the mushrooms and the shellfish crepes. Secondly, we forgot our small shopping bag and she ran it out to us as we walked away. Like I said, I wanted to like...

Attention! If you order the menu del día (€15.50), only water and wine are included. Any other drinks will be charged extra:

Beer: €3.50 Clara (small beer €2.25 + Fanta limón €3.50) : €5.75 Soft drinks: €3.50

Unfortunately, we were not informed about this when we placed our drink orders. It would have been better if the staff had explained it clearly in advance.

The menu del día includes a dessert, and I replaced mine with a coffee. However, the coffee was still charged separately on the bill.

While I eventually received a refund for the coffee, the overall experience was disappointing.

Tip: Always check your bill before paying to avoid surprises.
