I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jesús Restaurant, located on Carrer dels Cecs de la Boqueria in Barcelona, and it was an absolute delight. The ambiance of the restaurant sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal, with a charming and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
The service at Jesús Restaurant was impeccable. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.
As for the food, it was nothing short of fantastic. We started with the “Spicy Bomb,” a tantalizing appetizer consisting of potato and beef, generously topped with aioli and a spicy sauce that provided just the right kick to start the meal. The flavors were well-balanced, and the spicy touch was a great palate opener.
For the main course, we opted for the Chicken Paella. It was cooked to perfection, with rich flavors and succulent chicken that melted in your mouth. The portion was generous, and the aroma alone was enough to transport you straight to culinary heaven.
We rounded off our meal with a Tiramisu for dessert, which was beautifully presented and equally delicious. It was creamy, with just the right amount of coffee flavor, providing a sweet end to a fantastic meal.
Overall, Jesús Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with a great selection of dishes that are executed wonderfully. The combination of great food, lovely ambiance, and stellar service makes this place a must-visit when you’re in Barcelona. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this restaurant should definitely be...
Read moreThis is absolutely a tourist trap with fake reviews. Look at the top reviewers and you'll see they're fake. We were fooled by the absurdly high reviews which in no way justify the quality of this place.
We had the chicken and seafood paella that had more salt than the seabed where the ingredients came from! The food itself was passable at best, but it was not even in the same neighborhood as "authentic Spanish". None of the staff are even Spanish from what we could tell! One of the dishes had "grandma's sauce" which might be accurate if they meant the chef's Pakinstani grandma, but definitely not Spanish!
The service was abysmal, we felt like cattle brought in to be quickly "served" and taken out. When asking for the cheque the waiter brought a QR code and told us (didn't ask us) to review them with five stars on Google. We sat around obviously not doing so and about 10 minutes later they came back after again having to ask for the cheque, only for the waiter to first ask us if we've already submitted our reviews, like an assignment or something! But best of all, my partner went to the toilet only to see one of the staff very clearly using the toilet with the door open, mind you the door has a very well functioning lock! I wish this was a joke or a hit piece.
A large portion of the high reviews are fake and those that aren't are probably forced on by the staff. Absolutely despicable. What a horrendous way to spend an evening in a city with so much fantastic food to offer. Jesus would be ashamed of what they're doing, let alone using his...
Read moreThis place is pretty OK, but not a must visit. The place was pretty packed, the service was pretty efficient, but they forgot some things for us. The prices are also a bit steep compared to other places.
I won't come here a second time, we will take our chances with other places as Barcelona has many choices.
The Cava Sangria was nice, I had asked the server to bring it with little ice, but it came packed with ice, which is a minus.
For food we got the Seafood Grill for 2 and it's quite a bit. Unless you are super hungry, you won't be eating much of anything else. It was pretty delicious and cooked well, but we did have to get dirty as the prawns were whole. We had asked for extra napkins, but the server never brought them (you just have 1 per person at the table). And we did get some sand in one of the mussels. We didn't get a spoon with the hot plate of mussels, we did not ask for one after they didn't bring us napkins.
The cheese platter was OK, the cheeses were pretty bland, but decent.
For dessert, the Crema Catalana was passable, had so much better in other places and the Flan was bad, a bit burned and with spray whipped cream on the side. Don't get it.
I was also not very keen on them asking you to give them a review and how it seemed like they wanted you to do it on the spot. When my boyfriend told the waiter we won't be giving a 5 star one, they even asked for our names which I think was very...
