Writing this review to help people manage expectations about this place… We came here because of the many reviews saying it was interesting and valuable. It is pure BS. They give you a gift after you visit if you post a positive review. It’s all fake. I was expecting historic, relevant pieces of the history of sex and erotism. They have pictures of Kamasutra and drawings of other civilizations related to sex but nothing really interesting. All these pictures and drawings are very explicit (differing from some reviews) and it’s not really sexy nor erotic. The only interesting (and a little funny) thing were the porn movies the King of Spain used to watch in the 1800s. Then the show… the two girls did a nice job, but the show is not erotic or too artistic. The setting looked very improvised, with a phone streaming music to a speaker, with some chairs put in in one of the areas of the museum a few minutes before the show starting time. We were asked to closed our eyes in between songs because there is no stage. They are very nice and almost funny, good dancers, but not what we expected. I was expecting either historic context to can can, cabaret, and other dances they performed, or something erotic but neither… although it was kind of enjoyable. To be super clear, the girls did a great job and tried really hard, and they put their hearts into it. It’s not about the dancers, it’s the setting and the whole museum experience that it is not worth it. Be very aware of the other reviews have probably been incentivized with a store gift. I really do not recommend it. It’s a...
Read moreAh naughty, but so very human! Nice presentations of artifacts depicting erotic practices in different societies. Visiting this place made me realize how people are quick to "make do" with available tools across history and how we've made great strides in understanding and enabling pleasure, comfort and safety, considering the innovations in panties, toys and contraceptives.
The exhibition appeared a bit misorganized to me though. For example the first room is physically located in the last part of the floor. The signs were available yet confusing, probably because the displays were colorful, eclectic and cramped. I also thought that the English explanation on geisha's liberating relationships with men were quite loose. Furthermore, the traceability of these artworks, i.e., how it was collected and who made what, wasn't always...
Read moreIt was not bad, but there isn't a lot to see inside. Comparing it to the Paris Erotic museum, this one looked shabby. There were a couple of Picasso originals supposedly, but nothing to write home about. When we entered and were about to get our tickets, the girl at the register called the one in front of the museum to ask her what price she had given us (in Spanish). We hadn't been given a price so she told us, 10 € each. I asked her (in Spanish) I saw a better price online. She ended up saying she would give us a group discount and we paid 7 € each (which I still consider too much for the place but whatever). Learning languages pays off!
Long story short, it's a fun tourist trap I guess. Maybe have a couple of drinks before you go in and make sure you ask...
